Gary what can I say I have loved watching your videos because you really go through a lot of details in the way that you explain how you take the photos and compositions! I got told to check out your videos from a good friend of mine and yours I believe who is JP Appleton! He gave me my first lesson on Minimalistic Slow Exposure Photography down Corton Beach In Lowestoft Suffolk! I use the Nikon D850 and I brought a 16-35mm F4 VR from JP as he happened to be selling it at the time! So I’ve been watching a lot of your videos as I’m starting out into landscape photography more now especially slow exposure stuff! I have always been heavily into Wildlife Photography and have always had a bit of an obsession with Barn Owls and Short Eared Owls! But thanks for the great content it’s been a real help and I’ve learnt a lot from your videos which is truly great! I hope to see you around sometime! Take care Garry and all the very best! 😊

I enjoyed this video a lot - it reminded me of my own trek along that waterfall walk. I ended up exhausted and very muddy, but it was great. I have to ask though - the falls that you showed pictured on the sign near the start didn't look much like the one you photographed. There are half a dozen waterfalls on that stretch of river. Are you sure you ended up at the right place? 😁

Heroic scrambling but you need not go to south wales for that sort of waterfall approach. Hatch Brook Nr chorley is difficult access especially after heavy rain. I always carry a set of mini crampon spikes when waterfall shooting. Slippery, muddy, steep ascent/descents, mossy, slippery stream beds are a doddle wearing these. They have got me out of some sticky situations. Regarding lens choice, I often shoot multi image panoramas. Anyway, beautiful resulting images. Thanks for sharing.

If that's Ystradfellte near Glyn Neath and from the board which states 'Eira' (it looks like the waterfall you can walk under in the picture) then you had a long, long drive home. Sgwd yr Eira (Falls of the White Waters) is more impressive + there's two others (Gwladus + 1?) that are equally beautiful. I got photos of all four waterfalls on the day, but must have walked about 8 miles, constantly up and down, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Gary, at 11:10, given that you were using the 70-200mm lens you could have been up on the bank by that thick bitch or poplar treeat the right hand side of the video frame. You'd have more elevation to see more of the water at the falls and be out of the water, not rising the heat during shooting just traversing the river.

OMG🤣🤣🤣Gary your commitment is outstanding, but for crying out loud did you you never listen to your Father. "The right tools for the right job". As a long time Fly Fisherman the conditions you were faced with were nothing uncommon, if frankly ordinary, but as an Angler we kit ourselves out for the conditions. 1st job put the tripod away and get yourself a wading staff, Secondly Wellies, Really!!🤔 I can only assume you had some peculiar wish to visit the local Hospital (which seems odd especially on such a revered Anniversary) 😘 Next time you decide to wade through the raging currents, think Wading boots, personal choice would be spiked to aid with grip, but felt soles might help in certain conditions, add them to a set of wading Trousers, You don't get wet, you don't die, and in this particular circumstance you don't send messages to your Deity Apologizing for not getting home in time for the Bubbly. 🤩Downside is you have to carry them in as they are a B*7Ger to hike with them on. 🤨 As Ever ,Thank you for an incredible journey and some cracking images to boot. Be Well. Happy belated Anniversary. 🥂

Didn't know you'd been here Gary. My favourite waterfall, Sgydau Sychryd. The level above where you ended up is the best place for images of this waterfall, because you can see the pool separating the two falls, with loads of great options for foregrounds (there is another way down to it further along the trail from where you made that dodgy descent). I think I'd find this a dog rough hike nowadays (bad back), but i'm determined to try it this autumn. If you go again give Gareth Danks a shout - he visits these falls every autumn and (as you said) it's advisable to have someone with you for safety
