My guess is the real reason he wants to hire Elastigirl and Frozone to fight a bunch of staged supervillains is because once they get enough publicity and enough people watching them on television, he's going to switch the broadcast to hypnotize the population to do his bidding (either that or drop subliminal messaging in the programming to make the population do something for him). He doesn't pick Mr. Incredible because he sees Bob as a fat, washed up has-been that nobody will want to tune into. Bob and the family realize this underlying scheme and take part in taking Screenslaver down. Little do they know that the other heroes mentioned to be in the film are ALSO under Screenslavers control, so the climax involves fighting all of them. Thus Screenslaver embodies the greatest villain of our modern age . . . THE MEDIA.

It kind of seems like it would be the same plot as the first movie based on this information, the villain works with the Super until they believe that Super to not be a threat and then unleashed their plan and is stopped by the family of supers that they didn't take into account

So, two things. One: the playset that includes Brick is at the Incredibles' home, right? So what if the entire reason for wanting Elastagirl in the spotlight was to wear down Mr. Incredible with taking care of his super-powered kids so that he'd be easy picking for other villains like Brick? Second: we can pretty much surmise that Screenslaver's powers are hypnosis-based, right? Well, what if Winston Deaver is just another puppet? After all, he may be the one in the costume, but he's not the one with EVIL in his name...

Jace I have a new link in ScreenSlaver for you. When the Parr family are first introduced to Winston Deavor, we see them board a jet, with a distinctive logo on the tail-fin. Later, when Dash and Bob are talking about New Math, behind Dash is a TV screen with a rolling static image with lines. I believe the lines are the same logo as on Winston Deavor's jet.

While im a big fan of the first Incredibles and thin Syndrome really stands as one of the best Disney and Pixar villains out there i love the new bad guy design. You can really tell by the mask and costume that he like to keep himself at secret and is less flamboyant than Syndrome was with the cape and monologuing.
