I have been trying to play this song since I was about 13 (I’m 30 now) and no one could ever teach me how to play it because it was too hard for them to learn. Now because of your video I have already learned the first part today! Thank you so much!!

Rather difficult, but thank you for the demonstration. Incubus' acoustic riffs are some of the hardest for me. Acoustic arpeggios are my fav and most difficult. It is well worth it when you find the right tune on the right guitar.

What effects should I use in pre chorus/chorus? Overdrive or Distortion? Sorry I'm newbie about guitar effects, I'm confused between the sounds of Overdrive and Distortion effects

Overdrive and distortion are the same thing....just depends how you use them. I'd say just add enough overdrive/distortion or increase the amp gain to beef up the sound for the pre chorus/chorus parts.

You can use a chorus or phase 90 or just play it clean.

Thanks and I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember. I think it might be a peavy classic 30 with an OCD Pedal for the gain channel. No additional effects or pedals.
