She works for her family business only doing taxes. That's why this is so chill. If you work for corporate America you will get used up, chewed up and thrown out. Accountant only get highlighted when something goes wrong. Never any thanks given, and they also get pulled in 10 different directions with 10 different projects to help other departments while also having to meet their deadlines. And when they can't they get canned. Accountants end up fat and overweight by the time they are 40 due to being overworked. That is the reality.

I use to be an apprentice accountant. not so much actually accountanting but I did bookkeeping & things of that nature. At first it seems overwhelming because all of the numbers but after 2 to 3 times doing it I kinda just feel into a routine. I liked the job, it was a really good exercise for my brain however, my boss was a pain in the ass and expected be as good as her right away even though I was still being trained. I quit because she was making the job harder than what it actually was, but it was such good money I'm honestly thinking about going to college for accounting and just working at a more professional firm. I'm still in highschool, I wanna be a nurse but I already have experience in accounting so it just makes more sense to do that. I plan on being a accountant, then once I've learned everything I can learn from there transition into becoming a nurse than once I gain all the wisdom from that then finally retire as kindergarten teacher. It feels like a stretch but I can do all things through God.

It’s not that much, the video poorly described the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) required to maintain your CPA license. An individual must average 40 hours of CPE’s on a 3 year basis. One 3 credit hour college course would give you 45 CPE hours. Most accounting firms build time in for staff to obtain CPE during downtime.
@rorziee2 жыл бұрын
@@ethanriley7763 Hi, high school senior here looking into more on accounting as a possible future career. I was just wondering, are the CPE hours you have to maintain similar to how it would be when taking a college course? Specifically, does the course cost money that you have to pay just so you can maintain that job? If so, is it out of your paycheck? I am just wondering for some more insight on this, as I was unaware that additional "schooling" was needing to keep your accounting job (though it does sound reasonable when you think about how often laws change).
@ethanriley77632 жыл бұрын
@@rorziee Hello, taking college accounting courses is one way a CPA can obtain CPE credits. Most CPA's get the required CPE through webinars or conferences. In my experience, most employers will cover the cost of the CPE's as well as pay you, so often it isn't on your own time.

In real life you have only a few minutes in between calls. You make about 10 per day. If one client complains you can be fired. You also must be preparing X amount of tax returns in a short period of time, if not you will be fired, regardless of any stumbling blocks you think are good excuses. You never go home at 5pm. You must work overtime for free to get more work done, or else you'll be fired. You are competing against your peers. There's no employee protection at firms. The pay is below average, the benefits are mediocre. Also anyone can be a tax professional without college and that brings the pay down. And this is the truth in a day in a life of a tax accountant.

Is crazy like just imagine if I did go to college and actually do account in just imagine where I would be now and obviously it's not too late worth too late for me to go back to college and do the course but it's not too late for me to train myself and then somehow become something more because I need more income and since I count in it depending on which one you want to do you can basically still do it from home right you have your database you have your login you have all your stuff you need at home so it's like and it's basically it's like it's like a trade skill in I mean like once you have it you can basically use it anywhere the same like say if you're lawyer want your lawyer you can be yourself made lawyer as in like you can lawyer almost anyone obviously for your own prices so it's still fascinated to see that that is still there to only thing is because like stuff has changed into a more fully digital kind of like database our accountant still going to be valuable as they want to wear
