@@justinsharp6323 As a native german speaker, I don't think "sonder" is a german word at all, really. Especially not in this context. Sonder is basically a short form of "besonders" which translates to "special". The year is 1996. I'm a young lad in post-collapse Russia, my toys are sticks that vaguely resemble blasters if you squint, and my idea of sweets is bread with sugar sprinkled on top. One day, my aunt takes me to her boyfriend's place, where my attention is immediately drawn to a strange white TV on a desk. My aunt's boyfriend presses a couple of buttons, drags a white box across the desk, and then suddenly I'm hit with Terry S. Taylor's bonkers avant-garde jazz. A cartoon starts on the screen, except... I can control the main character? To say that my mind was blown is to say nothing at all. This was my introduction to computers, my introduction to videogames, my introduction to a life that wasn't pure misery. For all these things, the Neverhood is always going to remain in my heart.

I remember playing this as a child - never made it too far in because I think I might have actually been a little too young to actually grasp some of the puzzles. Glad to know that the game actually did exist, and wasn't just a fever dream 😂

Holy hell man. If I'd known you were looking for a copy I'd have considered offering mine. I don't even think I ever beat it.

2 things I'd like to mention: - the ending actually gave you a choice to either give the crown to the king or put it on yourself, making you the new ruler and villain. So there were multiple endings. - there has been another claymation spiritual successor that was released through Kickstarter called Armikrog. Great video!

This game is a trip. I played this game back in the day when it came out (i was 10/11) and it confused the hell out of me. The game just starts and explains nothing. I played this with my nephew and wandered around this crazy world for hours. Back then, there were no walkthroughs, haha! A truly unique experience. Combining games with claymation… love it. A true 90’s gem.
