We recently visited the Independence Mine in Palmer Alaska. It was such a beautiful area. This mine closed in 1951, ending a gold mining era for good. Please hit the thumbs up and subscribe so you'll be notified when I upload new content. Thanks so much, Pam

We made a trip up there and climbed into a cloud with light drizzle... Couldn't see thirty feet off the road. So without your video, we wouldn't know what we missed. Thanks.

Very much like a smaller version Bodie Ghost Town. Worth a visit when in Alaska.

Thanks for sharing. I think of you two whenever I use the pen you gave me in Vegas. It still lights up.

Palmer, Alaska really caught my eye. 4 generations of my family live in Palmer. My sister in law, her children, grand children and great grandchildren. Looking on Google Earth, it looks like they live on the north side of town. Thank you so much for the opportunity to get a glimpse into the history of their town. Safe travels Bob

Palmer is a great town. We really enjoyed our stay there. We ate dinner twice at the Noisy Goose. Excellent food!

Looks nice! A bit wet for me. And looks way to cold for me too. Ooo! Before I forget, How was the Alaskan (state bird). What do you call them? Oooo ya Mosquitoes! I heard they fly down and Carry you off! 😂😅😅 Hay Thank You for a fun video. It is cool to see all that. It is hard to Imagine how they got all that up there. With no roads at that time. Ok until next the video. We will be here on the lanai in the worm Hawaii sun. Aloha from your ant and uncle on the Big Island of Hawaii!🌋🍹

Lol, the mosquitos are bad in some places. But we always used bug spray. Yes, it has been coooold and rainy. But still pretty. It's gonna be a big change when we get home. We're hearing it's been breaking records of 117 degrees. Yikes

Wasn't this all a Glacier in the Valley there before, with no water in the mine? Yes beautiful now, yet how much contamination is there in the soil?

I know a lot of the mining really damaged the soil 😞
