Monogamy has inherent value for both men and women but in different ways. A man who's woman sleeps around and gets pregnant can potentially cause that man to unbeknowingly pour time and resources into another man's seed. A woman who's man sleeps around and gets other women pregnant has less resources for her child with that man (and her as well) as he now has to split his resources amongst his baby's mothers. On top of this, sti's are a thing and monogamy reduces this drastically. Though this is less of an issue than in the past where it is less likely now to be fatal due to progress in medicines. Also the brain is designed to flood the body with dopamine, seratonin and other 'happy' chemicals when you have sex. This is to strengthen the pair bond between the two parties. There have been studies that prove this effect diminishes and the ability to pair bond is reduced the more sexual partners you have, which in turn will effect your ability to commit and raise a child in the arrangement that statistically allows for the greatest success for that child rearing, which is a man and a woman as a monogamous couple. The sexual empowerment/ liberation movement neither empowers or liberates in all reality. Jealousy is powerful and it's there for a reason.

Marriage and commitment are necessary if you want to have a family and have kids. Raising a child will take at least 15 years, 18-21 if you go with the law in most countries. So, if we want to take on an endeavor, as a team, that will take at least 15 years to be completed. I need my team members to commit for at least that time until we complete our task. It is the same that happens if you want to play any sports. You need your team members to commit from the beginning, at least, until the season is over. No team has ever been successful if your team mates decide to move to another team in the middle of the game.

Very good take on marriage
@Milo298
@Milo298 3 жыл бұрын
@@heinzwitdasauce4710 well, that's what marriage was originally about, you and your partner making a public promise among your peers and society committing yourself for the kids welfare and the survival of the species in a way that your kids were not going to be somebody else responsibility. It has nothing to do with the current "legal" definition of marriage and divorce.
@Jaaayzen
@Jaaayzen 2 жыл бұрын
@@Milo298 While your take on marriage is correct, ever since it's been established people were unable to keep their promise. It seems like marriage was working years/decades ago because divorce rates were lower, but that's only because it was pretty much impossible to divorce one's partner without losing a huge chunk of one's financial and social status. Nowadays you can exit a marriage, an (depending on the country) 50% of people choose to do so. But I am fairly certain that those 50% always applied, it just wasn't that easy. It's pretty evident that most people are not willing and capable of spending 75% of their lives exclusively with another person
@Milo298
@Milo298 2 жыл бұрын
i agree, the current definition on marriage diverge from the original concept. It seems that at some point, the problem changed and that made the solution obsolete. People nowadays believe that marriage is about the couple not about the kids. People divorce when the couple doesn't "feels" ok disregarding the sole objective of marriage, the kids. I believe that people should be held responsible of their promises and contract obligations. No divorce should be allowed unless, 1. there are no kids or 2. The kids are already raised and left the nest. That could make the solution fit the problem again.
@Milo298
@Milo298 2 жыл бұрын
@@Jaaayzen we are on different frameworks, my comment started with "Marriage and commitment are necessary IF you want to have a family and have kids." Big IF. I think your framework is part of the reason why marriage doesn't make sense anymore. The moment that you change the problem from "the welfare of the kids" to "the welfare of the couple" changes the problem so much that makes the solution obsolete and just wrong. it is like, I need to put 2 pieces of wood together, solution, I use nails, against I need to the same 2 pieces together, but now they are not wood but metal, solution welding or screws. nails will not work with that material change anymore.

They aren't necessarily wrong. They show them how they should be treated (the base of it is with respect) but fail to show them how to reciprocate. So they're conditioned to receive without knowing how to give back. And to be honest, I don't think a man could teach her that. Sure we can tell them what we want, but we can't tell them how to use their femininity (for obvious reasons). To the point of the last statement, women want men that can provide for all of their needs. Most of the men that women want don't make that kind of money until dam near their 40's-50's. That's why I always preach to my brothas to start early and build yourself first. A man's value is determined by what he can provide, which goes up with age. A woman's value is determined by her looks. Which goes down as they age. A man gains more options as he ages, a woman loses options as she ages.

Men created monogamy because of its benefits.You produce many children with many women the quality of life and chances of survival for the offsprings become less favorable.With monogamy less resources are used up and you have a surplus wich helped create environments that lead to civilization.

The thing about guys naturally wanting to spread our seed with multiple women. Is that only the alpha males of a group is given that right. And with that comes the responsibility of providing for and protecting the group. The betas don't get to do that. They are celibate or try to become among the alpha within their group or another group so they can do that. So if you believe in that philosophy. I hope you truly are as Alpha as you think you are.
