Ya know we live in a factory, manufacturing society and most hate their jobs making some random product. But if any of us skaters could work in the skate industry like this factory, boy we'd be a happy society if we all worked at the places that make the things we love!

We no longer live in a large manufacturing society, we are primarily service-oriented. This causes a sort of alienation from work, because what you do is never done and there's nothing to show for your labor. I struggle with this myself. Until recently, I worked in repair shop, where shit came in broken, got taken apart, and then rebuilt with new parts, often made in-house. Now I work in tech and the "labor" is a meaningless moving around of numbers to make some "product" (literally just a service) designed to skim a little bit of excess capital of some corner of the economy, but at least I make enough money to buy new skateboards. Anyway, that's the end of my Marxist spiel.

It's not really a factory, it's just a distribution warehouse. NHS manufacture pretty much everything in China, including (now since they just ditched Ermico in SF) all independent trucks. They used to make boards, wheels the lot in their own woodshop in Santa Cruz.

I'm not even American but I'd rather support a brand that uses the original U.S factory than one that helps support an oppressive communist government like China and their economy. Plus NHS will be getting them made for significantly less money. Will you benefit from that? No. They increase their margin by using cheap labour in China but you get to pay the same price for the trucks.
