@@InDepthSonar Thanks Lawren, pleased to say I got the 3001. It’s great. I was able to go through everything quite easily to check my daughters Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Sxi, which had a weird code 000970 (it’s not an automatic) which the garage could not diagnose or clear. The manual code checker on the 3001 said that P0970 is a generic code “Pressure Control, Solenoid C Control, Circuit Low” which as far as I can tell, only applies to automatic transmissions, nothing to do with the problem of low power/flat spots on acceleration which is what we were getting. However, there were 4 or 5 other codes which the garage cleared after they changed the Camshaft Position Sensor for the second time...so they say. But this code 000970 remained...they couldn’t clear it. I have now cleared it with the 3001 and the car seems to be driving fine. I’m assuming...hoping this was a bogus code thrown up by other problems and, now that it’s cleared, is ok. 3001 great bit of kit for £25. 👍

Great tool ran test and cleared my engine light on mercedes c class in less time than it took to open the packaging , I took it to a garage who couldn’t clear the fault and advise going to specialist, saved me £100’s of pounds .. Excellent value for the price..

i have same one..i bought mine 4 years ago $18...used it for first yesterday on my broke down altima... it told me what part was bad... it was a cam sensor...after replacing car ran perfect... tool paid for itself big time... i guessed it was fuel pump or a crank sensor,i was wrong

I tried it on my 2002 Corolla with a check engine light. The scanner reads that there is 1 code, but doesn't display what code it is. When entering "display codes" I get this message like it's incompatible with the car, telling me to make sure ignition is on (which it is), and that the cable is connected (which it also is). I might be misunderstanding something but in my experience it doesn't work as advertised

Awesome review, But, It would have been waaay better if you had explained what each test was and meant. What was normal and when something was not working correctly and why. A more complete explanation for us that are new to scanners.

does it work better then 10 dollar blue tooth scanners veepeak and kitbest. I heard the blue tooth scanners do more with apps on andriod. is that true I'm confused. can I have it connected while driving and do it do a drive cycle?

The cheap Bluetooth scanners don't work all that well in my experience. You can do more with them because the apps they work with tend to have more software for graphing etc. You can have this reader connected while you are driving and once you complete a drive cycle it will update the status.

I got this device and I plugged it in it says since Dtc,s cleared says all ok, but on This drive cycle says incomplete on Cat, evap,O2s,Egr. does that mean I got to do a drive cycle?

Yes most likely. A drive cycle is not just turning the car off and on. You have to drive over 50mph, then reach a certain coolant temp. Then meet some other criteria. Just google it for your car and it'll make things quicker if you can find it.

I got a question so the option this drive cycle is perform for each car trip right. . when I turned off then on car and plugged the 3001 again this drive cycle said inc on some things in this drive cycle.

I would not buy any products from Launch Creader. I have a Creader 3001 OBDII reader with a Mini USB port. It works well enough but I went to their site to see what the Mini USB port was for. I found that Launch refuses to acknowledge that this product ever existed, and it's not that old. If you want to buy a product from a company that will completely abandon you as soon as they come up with some shiny new product to show to fresh customers, then buy something from Launch. I've dealt with companies that have problems with their customer service, but this company seems to believe that customer service that doesn't involve selling you a new product is a waste of time and resources.

It most certainly works on Toyota. Just used it to clear a evaporation code( crappy gas cap?)...so as others have said, if the vehicle is newer than I believe 1999 then the OBD connections are universal fitting.
