​@@eSpares Hi eSpares my problem turned out to be connected with the pump, but with the electronics running the pump.. The electric wires for the pump were touched to each other, and have caused an electric blow, and resulted in fault in the chip giving commands towards the pump. The chip is now replaced and the washing machine is perfect :). Regards from Skopje

Great video well explained. My filter is jammed and has something stuck in it. I cannot even turn the filter knob anticlockwise so it looks like I will have remove the pump.

I've got a reading of 194. (on the same model) Is that signs of the pump needing replaced? If I order tonight or tomorrow do you do next day delivery for Saturday's?

That sounds like the right resistance for a pump (apart from 120 volt machines in the America's). The impeller should rotate and spring into definite positions as it is a magnetic motor.

Thanks, very informative! Haven't tested the resistance yet, but my pump seems totally dead, no noise, nothing. The machine works fine, til draining, then all the LEDs on the horizontal row light up. The vertical ones don't. Since the machine follows it's cycle well enough, can I assume the expensive control board is OK? Also found no blockages so far. I'm worried this'll turn out expensive, but trying it myself first. I know my way round a basic set of tools! And now I know how a washing machine works. It's an Indesit IWC6125. Any tips gratefully received!

Hi Mat, i've made all check you suggest, also pump motor continuity give me 204 ohm. Still have flashing button led like in your video. After machine start I hear a little clik (rele' ?), not the clik of the window, and then flashing begin....motherboard gone ?? :(

Hi! I have an older model, Indesit W65TE, It has no digital display but since I found a bottle cap from a cola can in the filter, the pump makes a horrible and loud noise when it drains the water. Specially when there's less water inside the machine. It's like "brrrrrrrrom, brrrrrrrrom, brrrrrrrrom"(really loud) so I think that, even though the pump works, I should replace it because of the noise (and I notice that the clothes are wetter than they should, even though this machine only has 600rpm, and it takes longer for the machine to finish washing). What do you think? Should I check something else? Thanks in advance and thanks a lot for showing how an Indesit pump is. It makes everything so much easier :)

I had some horrible noises coming from the pump, and intermitanly draining, showing an F5 on a Hotpoint WMYF842PUK cleaned all the pipes pump etc... still wasnt working, ordered a new pump from yourselves, arrived over night, however it came with two spead out conectors, not the 2 way connector \i took the connector off, put 2 spade connectors on, now its not even attempting to make a noise, and chucking out an F11 code, does the polarity of the 2 red wires matter?

Hi Paul, sorry for the late reply, it makes no difference which way round the wires are but the F11 is indicating a pump circuit fault so check the connection as something is not making contact.

Thanks a lot for the video. But u said if the risistance give 220 is ok and if more is damaged..but if it gives me 168 is it ok or I need to replace it ? The problem I got on my machine is... After I take out the clothes of machine and come another time to wadher I find water in the drum.

Hi Muhammad, a typical value is 220 ohm but this can vary. If your machine is completely empty when the cycle has finished the problem is likely to be water getting back in. Try turning the supply off and if the water stops filling suspect the inlet valves.

Do I need to get a transit bolt to hold the drum etc. in place if I'm putting it on its side to work on the pump? I'm worried about damaging the supports otherwise.

There will always be some water in the tub which could damage the electrics on the unit when you tip it on its side so would not recommend that. Far easier to lean the unit backwards against the wall and access the pump that way. Once the screws are undone, the pump can be dropped down and worked on without disconnecting any pipes , and if you have a bowl under the pump any water will drain into the bowl, a lot easier and not as messy.

@@eSpares Sorry, wasn't entirely clear. Machine has no front access and I needed to remove the pump to check for blockages etc. Ended up putting bolts in and dropping it onto its side for just long enough to disconnect everything, then put it upright again until it was time to put things back. Guess I was lucky that I managed to totally drain it first, and that I know enough to give things time to dry out before reconnecting power. In any case, I managed to get the pump going again thanks to your videos. It is still temperamental, but given its a 20 year old machine I think that's to be expected ;)

Hi, I have an IWDE126 and a little while ago I cleared a lot of scale from the filter housing.Two months later the programme doesn’t finish , leaving water in the machine and three lights flash rapidly. The 2nd( The Easy IronLED ), the 4th(The spin speed LED) and the 4th (TheON/Off LED). Would it be a drain or drain pump issue?

Thanks for your reply. I have cleaned the filter. But still have the problem of drain the water. When I press the button to drain , after 2 minute all the lights start flashing. Can't understand where is the problem. (Water not drained)

I have F11 error on my Indesit washing machine, but pump works. Error start to blink after washing finish. Cleaned all hoses, and filter, and nothing. Pump shows resistance of 166, is it ok?

+Bojan The resistance is about normal but the problem with pumps is they can stick or even very occasionally run slow. +Bojan It Is important to give as much detail for us to try and identify the fault without being able to test ourselves. If the machine stops after emptying and finishing the cycle and then starts to flash an error after a minute or two . If the water has already drained correctly then check the pressure switch hose is not blocked with gunk in the tub. (Maybe easier to run a cleaner through the machine a couple of times see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5e6fGyam5aknck ) If the problem then continues we would suspect the pressure switch or control panel. You cannot replace the panel without specialist equipment so if it continues contact a Hotpoint service engineer.

I had a friend replace my drum in a Indesit iwe7145. The drum is spinning violently and ive found out the front counterweight has snapped. looking at the underside of the appliance, ive noticed that the shock absorbers have 2 location points on the drum. my friend has used the read location point to secure the absorber and they are not vertical in the machine, i cant find any info online to see if the absorbers should have been attached to the drum at the front location points instead! any info?

The best way to identify the correct position of the dampers is to remove the locating pegs and allow the tub to 'rest' in its natural position. Then keeping the dampers vertical, lift them up to see where they naturally contact the tub and select the 'gap' that allows the dampers to be fitted without pulling the drum towards the front or back of the drum. Finally refit the locating pegs ensuring the plastic 'barb' locks them in place and does not allow them to come out. Also check this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3ylqmBvg6p5a6M

Good info! Sorted that out, i ran a spin test with empty drum and it ran smooth. Problem is the drum seems to jump around a lot when it spins with full load!... also the bottom front counterweight keeps working itself loose. even though the bolts are quite stiff to tighten.

Careful not to over tighten the bolts as the mounting pillars can shear off. You may be able to use a thread locking compound on the bolts to fix them better and if the pillars or the weight have worn it may allow the weight to shift and loosen. Hi Kenneth. There are a number of pumps that may be listed for your machine but check it recognises the model number from the label inside the door to ensure it will fit.

I've checked that the hose is not kinked or blocked (the hose does let water out when put down low) - ive also checked the pump filter and there's no debris in it. the washer/dryer still won't drain and all error lights flash when the wash cycle is at the drain/spin point. can i do anything else at home?

Hi T Raza, you can confirm the pump impeller turns freely and check the motor for continuity (should read between 100 and 300 ohms typically).

+kamrul hasan The likely reason why the filter is stuck will be debris in the pipe into the pump. The only way to remove this is by taking the pump housing of the hoses and removing the debris. Follow the video to remove the pump assembly and once cleared the filter can be removed.

Hi Jamie, often if coins or hairgrips and other debris has entered the filter chamber it may jam and prevent you removing the filter. If this is the case by removing the whole pump assembly from the hoses you can usually shake any debris out of the pipe tube and the filter can then be removed.

I followed all the steps, nothing works. I think the filterpump is broke. I used the multimeter but I didn't get one number, it changes from low to really high. Not used to working with a multimeter. But could this indicates the filter is broke?

I had all the lights blinking. Opended the filter but it was really stuck, I didn't give up, eventually I got it open, there was a big coin in it and the filter broke. I bought a new one but it's still blinking, and I can't get the door open..

If you get a reading when you check the pump it is likely to be OK as generally they fail with no reading as if the meter probes are not connected. If the filter is stuck remove the pump and check no items are stuck in the pipe as it connects to the pump. Remember to drain the water by lowering the hose to a bowl before starting.
