I'm running a auto clutch. The cover is more substantial than my stock. That carbon up looks like a nice peace! One thing that probably won't stop the break lever punching a hole but gives me a lil peace of mind is to cable the lever to your skid plate! Good to see you back in the saddle bro!

Good job, Kyle. Hope you never need it. I've smashed a couple of these covers over the years so when I saw this one I went to RMMC and bought one. They look trick, are bullet proof, and are easy to install.

Keeps us updated on how it’s been working out. I’m not a huge fan of the flat gasket design.

Looks great for impacts. I wonder how it will wear over time against boots. My stock KTM cover is almost polished from my boot rubbing against it.

Half of the writing on mine is gone. Doesn't seem like a big issue though, it's still plenty thick.

The 18 XCW's have the longer bolt too, I learned this the hard way when putting a hinson cover on. Replacing the starter motor was a giant pain in the ass so be careful. I with this carbon one I was concerned with it warping a bit and causing leaks and not having as good of cooling as a billet Al cover so I just went with the tried and true hinson cover. plus it give the bike a factory look

I wish somebody made an aftermarket cover for when running a Rekluse

Carbon/resin has very poor heat conductivity, resin in fact is used as a heat insulation. Since clutch surface is a large heat diffuser - you must be increasing temperature a lot by Adding this. I would recommend aluminum cover and put some copper paste / other thermal conductive paste underneath the cover.

I love to ride in the back country, I armor up my radiators, and need to protect my clutch and Ign cover!! Ya, I tip over at times(usually would not make good youtube footage)

True Story, I've done it myself.... although mine was so bad that the whole outer cover rotated and got the secondary too on my KTM 200 XC-W... Running all Hinson Racing Billet except basket now though

Kyle, to your friends that rode with no oil, how did their gearbox/clutch system hold up after that? Assuming the clutch plates would take the most of the heat, how did their gearboxes hold up?

I have an 18 300. I broke the clutch cover, after i installed a new one, the starter motor stopped working. Apparantly one of the bolts is supposed to be shorter but with mine all 3 of the long bolts are the same length?

Always had a spare, never needed on. Having a ready to race paper thin engine cover may give you problems with just boot wear.

0:22 sketchy KTM front ends seem to wash out way too easily.... an issue I have and been trying to get addressed on my 2017 xc250. My Honda can be pushed way way harder in corners without breaking front end traction.

What tire are you using?
@bikermike6 жыл бұрын
@@poole0704 For me I think that was part of the problem in the terrain I was riding. The stock one was wider and had a different profile then what I use on the crosser. (stock tire may be good for the rocky stuff not sure though) I switched to more familiar geomax 52 intermediate. These bikes seem very sensitive to set up... been working with fork height and sag to get it working better but I think they are nimble handlers by design and sometimes that makes the front knife out more easily. (all just my opinion) but I have had a couple of these crashes myself too as well as a few more near ones. hahaha!

It's all bling, that's why. Waste of money. For example, is $1000 really worth it for an fmf exhaust system? Lmao for f no. Get your saftey stuff like knuckle gaurd, skid plate and that's that. Best upgrade you can do performance wise is good tires

These clutch covers are rubbish. They may not break but the fact they flex means your internals take the hits. I'd much rather break a clutch cover rather then bend or break a clutch basket
