So yeah, IS-7 definitely feels stronger now after br changes. It gets obliterated by APFSDS and HEAT, but super op against solid AP. APDS is somewhere in the middle. And they say slow Maus is hard to balance, so how do you balance this thing?

I imagine they’ll balance the IS-7 by lowering its BR. That way it will reduce the amount of APFSDS and HEAT it faces. All to improve the Armor Meta of course. /s Honestly I think they need to increase the reload time. Even with an auto loader 10 seconds feels too quick for a 130mm gun of that time period. In actual service it probably would have broken down pretty quickly.

hey dollar im very happy you have brought up the Maus and its struggle with bombs, i remember playing with friends and he could drop fritz X bombs on my roof and i would be fine but now anything even as big as a 250lb bomb can tear you apart if you are in the Maus yet the 268 and the IS 7 are really really hard to kill, also the Maus can be killed by simply hitting its side with a 7kg explosive shell but you cant to anything to Russians vehicles with HE half the time, i feel like they nerfed the Maus without saying anything and im glad others see the same and its not me being crazy, its kept me from playing the Maus (my fav tank) and its now just like you said an xp piñata, but anyways love ur videos keep it up

А Мышонок же - это подвижный квадратный бункер с открытым и прямым бортом... ИМХО на нём будут играть только мазохисты, а если это так - то чем больней садизма в его сторону, тем лучше, или нет?

@@4T3hM4kr0n well tbh the obj 279 design was specifically designed to disperse shock waves meaning it should be harder to take out with bombs because of its design unless you know you hit the roof of the tank than it should be sent to the shadow realm .

The rear facing machine guns used to be able to tank most (if not all) munitions at the br, notice the ammo rack in the back of the turret. It would eat up APFSDS, HEATFS, ATGMS, etc... Its ammo was also 100% 'bugged' and would act much the same as the T29 in its heyday, serving as spaced armor for the crew. Also, the turret top, which is extremely thin, was rendered a useless weak spot by not modeling a hitbox for the ridiculously humongous commander machine gun pedestal and most of the machine gun itself, meaning that rounds phase right through it, which is disgusting. I have a video on it on my channel from back in the day (I'm not sure if it's still not modeled in-game).

What a special day today: Dollar doesn't even need to angle. Also fun fact about the IS-7, if you have a key binded to switch to machin guns, you can press it 3 times to switch to the back machine guns. You will even be able to turn your turret with a mouse.

Stay away from the German tech tree then^^ Basically every tank is a glass-cannon, but most of them can't pen Russian heavies at distance anyway. Best experience is the Russian tree, it's busted as all hell... Plenty of choices, most of which out-compete your opponents options. The french also have a pretty busted lineup from tier 4+, AMX's are the scourge of middle-tier, along with the soviet nonsense.

Greetings from Hungary! In multi-gun tanks, if you set up your controls properly, you can use different guns of your tank separately, if you want to. That includes machineguns, like the backward facing Dushka on the SMK or the SGMT guns of the IS-7.

There's definitely something going on with bombs. In a test flight with 2000lb bombs on the SU-39 I kept dropping them right on the M60s that are spawned on the map and the bombs were not only not killing them, but basically doing no damage as well. Haven't seen anything in a match yet like that myself, but I also don't really CAS right now with Soviets because they have zero good options from 5.0 until 8.0 for ground attack other than the SU-11. Which I'm not going to grind for anytime soon.

My leopard 1 gets deleted by any bomb within visual range, buy somehow my Marder A1, which is both taller and significantly less armored, manages to survive fairly close hits. Armor is this game is just a "best guess", somehow fucky is going on behind the scenes, same reason Russian tanks are so busted, they should be getting fucked by most AP rounds - sometimes HE should be enough, but somehow it's often a bounce or insignificant damage.

You can use all 8 machine guns on the IS-7 to use the ones on the turret facing backward you just need to look in that direction and not press the "free around look button" (c in my case and i think the general case too) but its a pretty slim window and your turret will move while you try to hit

I know im late to the party but the is series tanks in general like to eat bombs for some reason. In my experince playing them they sometimes just refuse to die to bombs, and they have done so for as long as i can remember owning them. A few other tanks refuse to die to bombs more often than others, but it isnt as noticeable as it is in the is series.
