Direct spindle indexing allows the control on a mill/turn machine to know precisely the radial position of the spindle at all times. This has the advantage of not having to re-home the spindle at the start of each milling operation.

I thought most (half way modern) Index machines could do that too. I'm from Germany and the company i work at is just 2 blocks away from the Index Headquarters in Germany.

If only these could do direct spindle indexing, like Citizen/Miyano machines...
