Tru-Fire Hardcore Buckle for me. The light as a feather trigger is a pleasure to use. Plus the head having a slight pivot built into it helps with alleviating torque off the string.

Also the wrist strap is very comfortable and don’t feel any pinching on the wrist. Now when you release watch the hook and make sure it is completely engaged before you draw back. My personal favorite are the Trufire models like the smoke he showed here. I went for the $85 version, I forget the model name. It is a dual caliper spring tension release. The slightly more expensive version I use is more polished and contoured which reduces the Loop wear he mentioned. I absolutely love it! As far as the sear style, or cam style releases are concerned I don’t really like the sudden break of the trigger. It causes me to flinch or worse pre-fire accidentally. With my favorite I simply trained myself not to punch the trigger or anticipate the release. I just anchor, aim, and concentrate on aiming more than what my trigger finger is doing. Like he said 1 thought comes naturally. Just slowly ease into it and like a rifle it sends it down range when it sends it. Form and aim come first!
@jordanpowell2285 жыл бұрын
I agree about the new stan, i want to see it in action from some people doing reviews. There is an index finger trigger release that i feel gets nowhere near the attention it deserves. The scott echo is a superb hybrid style release, very adjustable in terms of trigger tension and travel along with being on a strap to adjust the throat length. I found it to be far more consistent than my trufire hardcore.

I have that release you have. Well the lil goose. Had it for about 4 years now. Worked great up until today. That set screw backed out on its own over time and I didn't notice it until I got in my stand this afternoon. Release wouldn't hold the string at all. I actually had to use a tooth pick to get it out once I got home cuz I didn't have an Allen key that small. Threw the set screw in the garbage so that doesn't happen again. Not sure if you've ever had that issue or anybody else who has that release have that issue but if you do something you might want to check before you go out hunting so that doesn't happen to you. I was just shooting the other day and it was fine. Still love the release but just a heads up if you have it so it doesn't spoil a hunt for you

I shoot that Truball Valor release and love it! Haven't had any D-loop wear because of the rounded inside edge on the caliper. It's a bit of a hair trigger, but can be adjusted to be lesser so. Glad it was included because it's one of those ones that I feel doesn't get enough love. I've noticed that mine has lost a lot of that sound you mentioned through use as well. Why can’t a compound bow release be used on a recurve bow? Thanks Great videos, great info.
@tonypace20095 жыл бұрын
I use to Use release on recurve the issue is recurve at full draw has a lot more weight on release therefore when trigger sear is released the string still has a lot more force opening jaws of release causing trigger itself to fracture. Tried 3 different releases and same type damage to all 3 of them . Honestly the reason I am getting back into recurve now is they are faster to aquire target and honestly a release just adds more that has to be addressed during the shot. For target shooting recurve I can see a benefit in shoot through riser recurve and a release but need to find a release that can cushion the jaws as they are forced open .

@mab08524 жыл бұрын
Love my Wiseguy, but it is super sensitive (in a good way). When my Wiseguy strap goes, I'll be making a new leather one. My buddy's Scott got so frayed I decided it was too dangerous to shoot anymore. I cut the parts off and made him a new strap that will outlast his archery career and its custom fit to his wrist. Just because it came in the box that way doesn't mean it needs to stay that way. Better yet grab a used one with a bad strap on the cheap and make your own. Custom fit, fraction of the price.

I have a Stan PerfeX thumb release and have sent it back 3 times because the springs wear out and there's a ton of travel after they do. However my accuracy is impacted due to the release not being a swivel (like I am used to shooting and more forgiving with my pull angle). Do you have a recommendation on a swivel with a boa strap that has a very crisp trigger like the wiseguy? I called Spott Hog and they said they do not have a swivel setup with the wiseguy trigger :( Help!!!
@InsideOutPrecision5 жыл бұрын
There are couple things here...first, are you gripping the release shank when aiming? If so, swivel or no swivel, it's going to torque the back of your arrow. Relax your fingers so you aren't influencing the release at all. If you are already doing that, then I'd look at the B3 Hawk or TruBall short n sweet

I found the comment about not having to look down to hook the release to the stringloop interesting. I was born with the kind of eyeballs that move freely in their sockets, allowing me to look down without moving my head. That's a terrible handicap for you to have, especially for bowhunting, to have eyeballs that are in a fixed position.
