Jai and Raj delve deep into the nature of conventional warfare, exploring its traditional definitions and how it has evolved in modern times. Drawing from real-world examples, they explore conflicts across Africa, where militia groups and non-state actors blur the lines of conventional warfare, and look at the ongoing struggles in West Asia, including proxy wars and insurgencies that challenge the old models of warfare. The discussion also turns to India’s own regional context, highlighting the geopolitical tensions with its neighbors and the strategic shifts in the subcontinent.

Jai takes a satirical dig at Raj’s proposition about medieval warfare being humane. Sensitive issues like sexual violence during war is referred to and is associated with one religious group. It is not to say that only that group indulged in such medieval tactics, almost every group used such tactics against each other. The talk of caste hierarchies being created after wars in Ancient and early medieval India is also an example how horrific acts were being committed during warfare in that time. It is not say those acts can only be associated with one specific group.
