Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.

Really this magnificent ancient country got it curse finally ending with a mammoth bloody communal riots of 1946 started which took millions of lives and marked the history of India with blood spot. Apart from this, the then British government paid for the development of railways at a higher price than the actual cost, which benefited the British enterprises expanding the railways. The truth is also that even though railways developed in India during the British rule, everything from railway engines to railway tracks and all types of components were manufactured in the United Kingdom and not in India. By using the money which the then British government used for the development of railways, they could have encouraged the development of agriculture in India so that people would not have died of starvation on a large scale. If this money had been used for India's industrial development, India would have been an industrialized country like Britain. But industrialization in India became possible only after independence. If India is counted among the industrialized countries today, it is because of the hard work of Indians and the policies of the Government of India after independence.
