While many criticise the partition of India and Pakistan but I truly feel that in the end we should be happy and feel lucky to be partitioned from the people with an offensive and fascist mindset leaders who destroyed Pakistan and continue to do so till today. yes! india actually became its own republic on Jan 26, 1950

On this day India became independent and also became a Dominion. Dominion because the British ruler were also the Head of State of India till the implementation of the Constitution. And the Governor General was the representative of the British ruler. Whereas independence was achieved because under the Indian Independence Act, the entire sovereignty of India is transferred to the Constituent Assembly of India. From this day onwards the authority of the British Government and the British Parliament over India completely ends.

It is absolutely true that this was a transfer of Power. But we should not forget that only after this transfer of power, India becomes independent and the authority of the British Government over India is completely ended. Under the Independence Act 1947, power is transferred to the Constituent Assembly of India.
