What is the need to celebrate independence day of India on the roads, in public in any foreign country? Am not against celebrating Independence day or any festival, but why in public thereby inconveniencing the locals ? Why cant we celebrate the same thing indoors - in a stadium or hall or open grounds which does not disrupt traffic? Does the American dude in a hurry to reach his/her office on times square for an interview/appointment really care about indian independence day? Does the local person rushing to a medical appointment in Washington DC give two hoots?
