India expected to retain position as world’s fastest-growing economy

Analysts expect India to retain its position as the world's fastest-growing major economy this year. Factors including government spending are helping to drive this growth. But higher costs remain a concern for business owners, with the country preparing to release fresh inflation data on Jan 12. Rebecca Bundhun reports from Mumbai.

Reserve bank of India caps 4-6% inflation as manageable for India. So 4.8% is within that range . Still some food prices have to come down before interest rates drop. The only way for now is evaluating the quantity and experiences of the govt people touch points. The one thing which everyone would agree is the current govt have reduced these touchpoints significantly.....which means the leakage points Although maybe still present there but have largely reduced And the experiences can vary but more largely the general sentiment has been atleast in that last 6-7 years you don't have to anymore give bribes for getting the benefits of the basic welfare schemes.....like the health card, housing or food grain schemes And also some of the previous huge scams by govt in India were related to awarding tenders/auctions like in the 2g or coal-gate scam, etc.....now as far as center is concerned the tendering/actioning has all been digitized even a regular public can log on to the respective govt authority sites and check whose had bidded how much and all those
