His ill health and death is perhaps the only reason PC went to jail. He was actively protecting PC and even defended National Herald case as saying 'it can be dropped if they pay a fine'. Lots of right things but just one thing wrong. Hinduism is not a religion. There is a difference between Dharm and Mazhab. Mazhabs are born and they die , Dharm is eternal . It has no prophet or a book of fundamentals. Mazhabs are not Dharm but 'Panth'. Also he needs to stop picking up fight with Modi and Shah such openly platforms.. Neither will it help him or India's cause.

धर्म means a "code of conduct" in the bhagwat geeta sense of the way. This is totally correct that "HINDU" is not a religion. Our religion is called SANATAN RELIGION. सनातन धर्म। The totality of practices in sanatan dharm including the fringes, is referred as Hindu-ISM. Our way of life is an "ISM" roughly speaking. No one god, no one book, no one prophet, no one revelation, no specific permissions and prohibitions,no one holy place. Yet the practices and the codes of conduct that knit together the society. Our tragedy is the varna tragedy.later the caste tragedy. Savarn and those left out- the avarna, caste has only divided this "ism" that we practised. Hindu-ism is thus fractured into thousand of pieces so although we may say INDIA is a hindu rashtra, it doesn't amount to a hill of beans cos Hindu-ism is internally fractured into thousand pieces with no uniting force of reform in sight at all.

@autonomous psyche that unity is howsoever conceived or maintained is what I think we refer to as hinduism(हिंदुत्व). But we must me careful here to not let the word hindu be hijacked by the RSS ideology. It is not hidden from the people how RSS was the parent organisation of Jan sangh whose offshoot is the BJP. My problem with Hindutva as an RSS ideology, is that now that the BJP is in power , Hindutva ideology became a hegemonic ideology.( Which is why only now mr swamy can call India a "hindu rashtra). And there you hv what is commonly known by the christians as "mingling of church and state" which only brings catastrophe. Students studying political science in hindi language know very well when an "ism",an ideology takes massive political proportions it always is called वाद in hindi. So this hindutva when mingling with legislative, executive and judiciary of the country, this will turn into "हिन्दू-वाद" . Word hindu-ism will take sinister meanings. Same way the catastrophe of the islamic states have made the west invent the word "Islam-ism". India will never be looked the same again, if say a catastrophe were to happen in this country. Yogi adityanath as cm, sadhvi pragya as mp , pm twitter handle posting a sadhguru poll, now the CAA, bhagwa flags outside passport office in delhi, lynchings in the name of ram(accused getting garlanded by union minister), all these are not promising signs.
