No no you have got his criticism all wrong. It seems you look at only Sanghis and Bhakts criticizing him. The real problem is that Jayant seems to live in an echo chamber. If you want to be critical of the Indian government or Government in general, there are far better ancaps like say Walter Block, who have had debates, public ones with those that have contrarian views. Hoppe does not have public debates, but is intensely intellectual and mostly wrongly interpreted by idiots like Jayant based on half truths. Then there are the cosmopolitan moderate libertarians like Mises whose books, if you read them by yourselves for real (rather than going to mises.com) will hopefully shed a lot of light on how the world really works and how and why the issues in India might exist the way they do. Rothbard was like fire but nevertheless very humanitarian in motive. There are so many to read. Even the 'wrong ones' as per libertarian thoughts...those like Hegel and Leibniz.. Have so much more insight to offer than this toxic clown. Jayant is literally nothing but a viper who is so full of venom, that it is only venom that he can spew each time he talks. This stupidity has gone so far. The Indian pharma company elite literally laugh at these idiots. While the West has gone on consuming spree, the factories have shifted East, to China mostly, but some like pharma to India as well. The West throws money on anti depressants and stupidly priced meds and insulin. Now they will pay for vaccines too. When a new drug is created, the creators have to pay Indian and Chinese companies for not copying their drugs too soon and bringing down the price. Because all the factories are in India, China, Africa or other less developed countries! Capital as Böhm Bawerk discussed is simply something with a positive interest rate. Factories have necessarily positive interest rates. Ideas can be copied, factories cannot be copied. If the West was so great, why are their wages not increasing since decades now?? Why are wages increasing in countries with factories? If they are so great and know so much about how capital works then why did they let the factories go out of their countries to other countries. The West is nothing as great as it used to be. Jayant can stop kissing the shoes of the Brits. Yes they did great stuff in the past and many did indeed do better than the current Indian government in some areas. But those Brits are long dead. If the West is so great, why can't they keep their families intact? Their capital intact? Their position in the world intact? Why are they threatened by developing nations? But beyond not looking at these points, the main issue is Jayant literally calls himself ancap... What a joke.. The truth is this idiot is a Trump supporter. A supporter of autarky. Lol. An ancap supporting autarky. Supporting Modi and supporting Trump is one and the same.. Lol.. Hahaha.. It is alt-right BS. Just because he is critical of Modi and Sanghis doesn't make him correct. People of India must wake up and choose the right people to follow. Jayant is not even remotely relevant in the ancap dialogue is not worth more than a speck of dirt in front of the true champions of ancap movement.

If there are no thieves in the city we need not put a door during the night ( actually one town in Maharastra is like this) . The point is we need to make our system fool proof - How ?. For example, if we want speed to be 60 KM PH PUt governor and control speed not speed limit board on the road! likewise, we need to make systems procedures which are error-proof - Getting DL sitting at your desk / LAnd registration without going to SUb registrar office etc.. It is possible - VOLVO BUS gives Driving license to Drivers which is actually viewed as premium etc.. Need to find solutions where we need to avoid meeting authorities which are by definition corrupt

I am not here to trash the Indian. I know they had a very glorious civilization but that was long, long time ago. This speaker is not anti-India, on the contrary I believe he is proud to be an Indian but are not very proud of India over the last 30 years. He is telling the truth that the patriots back home doesn't want to hear which is fair enough. But if India really wants to move ahead, they should be more courageous and accept the truth, turn pain into gain, stop the make-believe and instead take serious action and putting more pressure onto their government to do something about it. All the cheap talk doesn't get you any results, only a major change will give you guys the chance of making it happen.

William Yuen He is exaggerating. I am not saying whatever he is saying is false, but the extent to which he is exaggerating the negative things about India makes one doubt if he really thinks of himself as an India or is merely taking advantage of "Oh, he is an INDIAN, he must be speaking the truth about India." He calls China a land of critical thinkers while saying we lack it. About 99% of people would disagree with that, at least the ones who are not on the Communist payroll. India's tech scene is booming, the world is noticing it, he isn't because he doesn't want to, his job is to present a grim picture of India which he is doing quite well.

Indians have to be uneducated to brag about democracy when you have no idea that a country can't be a democracy if doesn't have a healthy middle class. It is why China is 5x India's economy. 😢😢😢India is the saddest country on the planet. It occupies 126th position among 137 nations ranked in the World Happiness Report 2023 released by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network. In South Asia, Pakistan ranks 108, Sri Lanka 112, Bangladesh 118 and India 126. Most of indians are extremely irrational and primitive. They fall for propaganda and fake news by their government. Why india is a backward and uncivilized country, which is impossible to progress The fundamental truth about india is that it is a very divided country. India often boasts the slogan 'unity in diversity' but this is not the case. Villages discriminate against other villages, religion discriminates against other religions, different communities discriminate against other communities. If you are a true citizen of india, then you know very well how it is in your home and the conversations you have about your people. India can only grow if it is truly united, when indians have discarded the concepts of Brahmins, dalits, Hindus, Muslims, biharis, UP. When someone from other state looks down on people from other state then how can india grow. People accept English instead of Hindi. Hindi is enforced but actually most of the states in India are non-Hindi speaking states. Indians are proud of their culture. But denies the truth that for centuries indians have discriminated and stolen, cheated, blackmailed each other based on caste, creed and color. That's Indian history. Indians don't respect fellow indians. Try to observe how when you shop. Observe while you are in traffic. Observe as you stand in line for a simple movie ticket. Do you find this experience peaceful. No, no. You are in anxiety. You are on high alert as most of the indians will cut in line to take your place. Is there respect shown to you as a human being? That's the indian mentality. Intrude on other people's space and property. Indian mentality is barbaric and savage, which is impossible to change.

@madone 05 No, there is some truth in his assertion albeit it is somewhat distorted and misinformed. Before the nineteenth century, India(particularly the Bengal Subah)accounted for almost 25% of world GDP. This was in the form of shipbuilding, silk(sericulture flourished in the region due to the early introduction of the silk-worm and the West found it convenient to trade with them because, unlike China, had less stringent trade rules ), cotton textiles, jute, metalworks, indigo, opium, spices, etc. While the West depended on the Indian subcontinent for so many resources the later had nothing to take from the West aside from a few luxury items, precious metals and few other merchandises of the like which were insignificantly necessary than the goods it supplied. This resulted in a one-way trade which was "a drain on Europe's wealth".For India, however, this was a leverage which they could have used to force the West to introduce and build those things India lacked-both material and ideological. However, they clearly failed to do that and here we are!You can visit the Wikipedia page and check the references and links to verify my statement. Even though the land was well endowed with natural resources, as a society they were and are still extremely backwards, resistant to improve and modernise and frankly incompatible with development in the modern era. Absolutely objective and crystal clear depiction of Indian scenario. India is centuries behind the developed world. Everyone in India is corrupt and dishonesty and treachery is taught to the children at a very young age so that they can survive in wretched Indian society. People not only have no civic sense but also they hate to become civilized. They litter on every nook and cranny of the earth. Traffic in India is horrendous, as 95% Indians don't know the meaning of lanes on the roads. To Indians, traffic lights, and markings on the roads are decorations. Just as cows and dogs can freely walk into the highway from any direction, so can Indians show up with their vehicles from any horizontal direction possible. Someday, Indian vehicles will begin to take vertical direction as well. And cars will be coming from sky as well. Bottom line: there is no distinction between cows and Indians....

i can see this "Jayant Bhandari" deeply in love with his country but just frustrated with reality. as a chinese living in the states, i have met a lot of elite indian people, that means india have a great pool of talents. but india government needs to focus on the mass, bring up their education level. i always tell me my indian friends. don't think china gets where it is today was due to the reform (after 1978 later) alone. by the time of the reform started, even with years of rocky political events during first 30 years of PRC, china had laid out relatively complete industrial foundation, which meant china was almost able to build everything 100% inside of china, maybe not so great quality, but at least all built in china. also relatively educated mass, can't say 99%, but i would say at least 80% of literacy was not far fetched, for those born after 1950. so with the reform, china was able to transform its relatively complete industrial foundation into mass production mode quickly for low end products, with relatively educated but cheap labors. as we chinese saying:"one cold frozen day would not create three-feet thick ice".

Judging from the world bank website, the latest update in 2022, Bangladesh's GDP per capita (2,688 usd) has exceeded india's (2,388 usd). Even Bangladesh has passed india since 2020 and india has never been able to catch up with its neighboring country. According to the same site, World Bank, the latest data for 2022, india's nominal GDP is 3.385 trillion, not 3.7 trillion. 2023 hasn't ended yet, so the latest data is 2022 data. To find valid data, please open the world bank website, not wikipedia, because wikipedia is always edited repeatedly by indians who don't accept their country being defeated by Bangladesh.😢

While the British did put an enormous inferiority complex (not "amount of") in Indians, this guy is not an example of it. He actually calls things out as it is. It's sad that people think that if someone is criticizing India, that they're of a slave mentality. There's no denying that India is an absolute shithole, which is why so many people would jump at the chance of leaving it. It's why almost no country allows people from there to visit their country visa-free.

Guru M from Quara said: She is used by her clever husband Mr. Goswami who is a businessman to generate alternate income in the form of youtube revenues via the popular videos in which she garners views and likes by appraising naive Indians. In each video she reads out a script loaded with positive-bias on different topics about India, while a video slide-show plays. For any rational viewer it becomes quickly apparent that reason takes a backseat to blind praise in her videos. She stokes nationalist sentiments while brushing aside every malady in India as the false propaganda of the so-called “western world”, without going into specifics. She reads out the mostly amateurishly text with a monotonous voice without much expression. She has found a reasonable amount success in social media which might help out with some revenue. Richard Yapp from Quara said: I have watched 9 episodes of documentaries from KZbin. They are informative however more and more compliments rather than simple non biased freelance journalism. In my humble view, she is inflaming narrow minded nationalism for Indian fans like pre war Japan and Germany. Her business is Anti foreigners, Anti foreign Media and bashing foreign nations and praising Indian achievement in ancient time and modern days. Het adoring international audience are mostly Indian expats and Indian migrants. According her, she is educating non Indian audience about real India in details. However non Indian viewers will not spend a penny for watching her positive biased documentaries. She and her smart husband are milking the fees from die hard naive fans with nationalist sentiments. Politically and financially motivated. Imagine British locals will get anti Polish expats movement in UK, there will be unwanted consequence. India is also very diversed and full of ethnics and religious tensions. She is so much biased and promoting nationalism and superior mentality for particular communities from India. She has even praised chaotic, disorderly and dangerous Indian roads and traffic condition which is a champion of accidents. On the contrary, carefree Foreign medias are portraying injustice for traffic and rape victims . There are crimes in everywhere. If there is Indian expat or tourist has been asssulted in Singapore or China, punishment will be touch comparing with weak justice of India. She did not mention about injustice. She excused crime statics with Indian high population for pleasing her fans. India has been booming and reclaiming past glory. However not all Indians are sharing the prosperity equally as she has exaggerated.

In basic human rights aspects such as living conditions and free education and healthcare China is way better. 100% Chinese have 9 years free education and more than 50% go to colleges and vocational schools.

Indian mentality is barbaric and savage, which is impossible to change.😢😢😢

Let's be realistic. India will never be a developed country in it's lifetime. Even if India grows, it will get stuck in the middle income trap forever. India will also face major resource shortage due to overpopulation and face the wrath of climate change. India's resource base isn't large enough to support an economy too large either. Also the West and China can sabotage India in a jiffy if it grows too much. Also most Indians don't have unity and are still backward minded and tribalistic. Corruption and being unethical has become so deep rooted that it's become impossible to fix it. Also, the number of talented Indians leaving India is increasing at an alarming rate every year and many of these Indians who left India brag about India being the next big thing which is extremely comedic. The most mind boggling thing is that even if God comes down from heaven and says that India will never be a developed country, pa jeets will call him anti Indian and continue living in their fantasy of India being a developed country. Moreover, countries that actually became developed bragged less and did more. India brags more and does less. To conclude, India may improve in some areas, but it always stay a corrupt 3rd world uncivilized sh8hole. Hence, forget your dreams of being a developed country pa jeets. India is an utterly failed experiment. Adios

In India one has to pay bribe for every kind of license whether it is driving license or passport, only people who are part of the corrupt system can manage to get without paying bribe. Even for perfectly legal things one has to pay the bribe, for example registration of property, registration of business, getting clearances from so many govt departments and official one has to compulsorily pay the bribe, otherwise Babus will create a situation so that the the work will remain pending under one pretext or other ! Outside every government transport office, the RTO or offices of municipality 'agents' , hundreds of them keeps roaming, they are the route to get the work done. And this is 'normal' corruption. Normal accepted way of life, accepted by all. All know about this. Almost every member of Parliament, every member of legislative assembly, every mayor, members of city councils, Administrators senior or junior. IAS officers, the clerks (derogatorily called the 'Babus'), District Council chair persons, the members in those councils, the village council heads and members are corrupt. For police corruption, that is so prevalent, no need even to mention. They are just behind making money. Every project undertaken by governments means windfall corrupt money for this lot. Every brick laid out in a government project, be it a bridge or a road, construction of a hospital or school or any other public work, the public spending is divided by corrupt officials, contractors and local and remote politicians. The common man feels helpless and has no choice other than focusing on his own life in this mess created by corruption. The success stories more or less are stories of individual efforts or talents. The system as whole is a failure. The public education system is a failure, the public health system is a failure. Only the poorest send their kids to public schools, only the poor go to government hospital for treatment.

There is no unity in India. India is very diverse. Many differences lead to conflicts of interest among many ethnic groups. They are difficult to unite. Not to mention the unfair treatment of lower castes and religious minorities. That's why India is so difficult to develop. This is very different from China. China is a homogeneous country. More than 90% of the Chinese population are Han people. The sense of unity and love for the country is very strong among the Chinese people. It might be better if India split into smaller countries. For example, North India and South India. What's the point if a country has a large area but there are many conflicts in society.

The problem is that these aren't "ancient cultural restrictions", but cultural restrictions brought to India by the British. The people are just so colonized that they don't even realize it, and have started to own those foreign ideas to such an extent that they now think they're Indian ideas (e.g., pre-marital chastity, separation of boys and girls and not having each group talk to each other until the wedding day, etc.). Ironically, Britain has long shed these silly ideas, but India still perpetuates them. You don't even have to go so far into it. It's even everyday things. Like the power plug used in India was used by the British before WWII, and India hasn't bothered to get rid of it and use the an international standard. Same thing with driving on the left side of the road, or myriad other things.
