Ur 💯 right! When I first saw Sonny's channel (maybe 6 years ago) I didn't like it as much as the other food vloggers...Wiens, Mike Chen and Food Ranger. Maybe it was the editing or maybe it was that they had already established a video personality...with the 'WOW's and the bits of humour...i don't know. But as time as gone by...and it's been like this for over a year...while those other guys have become tired and repetitive, Mikey has gone from strength to strength! Not only is the editing of his videos top notch...as a personality he has become far far better than the others. He really understands food from a taste perspective - and that makes his commentary real in each video. I honestly think that Wiens has no idea about food at all...and Mike Chen just seems to go through the motions and say the same thing these days - no matter what he eats! I'll admit that Food Ranger seems to know more about food than the others but his personality is nowhere near Sonny's. I'm not being paid for these comments btw!!! But honestly though...Sonny has done an amazing job and it's been a real pleasure to see his evolution over the past years! ❤

Calcutta street food in itself is by far the most cosmopolitan food in India's already cosmopolitan food scene. A wonderful blend of Bengali (the predominant taste), Chinese, Nepali/Tibetan, Armenian, English, Mughlai and various Indian influences, the food is extremely diverse and innovative. The Chinese influence is quite strong in Calcutta, probably because it has not one, but TWO Chinatowns. Also, the Chinese community here has assimilated with the local Bengali population to create the gem that we refer to as 'Indo-Chinese'.

But not pan India food. So sad
@souvikdeb252311 ай бұрын
@@Kathakathan11 There are many pan-Indian food options too (like Malayali, Goan, Tamil, Maharashtrian, North Indian etc). But I'm talking about 'fusion' between Indian and non-Indian cuisines. For example, 'Dolma' is a very popular dish that is common in Bengali households. It arrived with the Armenians, who in turn learned it from the Turks. Bengali households use pointed gourd (potol) and a fish filling to make dolma instead of the original Armenian/Turkish variant where they don't use pointed gourd (they use large peppers like Capsicum) and minced meat (usually lamb or beef).

@@CunnybapistI guess ignorants remain ignorants, so I won't say much. I'll just say, these people of Kolkata are not Tibetians, but Hakka Chinese, an ethnically Chinese people, who migrated to India,settled in Kolkata during British Raj, and never left. Till date, they do not have Indian Aadhar cards, but live in India. They even refuse UPI payments as they aren't "Indian". These people are what constitutes the "Chinatown" of Kolkata. And also, Tibetian food is much different than Chinese, but I suppose you are that ignorant to even research it, simply because Tibetian food is much more suited to you and so you say Tibetian=Chinese.
