Yes, similar situation in Dhaka - enormous lives lost by negligent drivers & pedestrians. There's been so much protest and ongoing protest by society but the government is deaf. Becoming modern means paying attention to the simplest of things - the water we drink, the air we breathe, the words we use in public or private or hidden, and the roads we build. Roads aren't sexy. But then again roads aren't so simple either.

some time back online tests were started but again Indian being Indians ab uske answers brokers bhar dete hai jo DL banwate hai , Driving tests were mandatory woh bhi almost on paper hi hai ab . Indian lives are worth nothing especially in India.

Here in Bihar, they discourage the people going for driving licence through proper rules. I and my friend applied for licence together (he through broker). I got my licence after 7 months and my friend got it in a week.

Why do you think an over ridge will work - the land owner or original occupant should not be made to put in extra effort to climb up and down to cross a road - the road should be built over the footpath so they can cross safely without any extra effort

Agreed, minimal effort alternatives are needed. Over bridges are also lying unused.
