RRTS will be a rail based system that will connect small but fast developing towns. The goal of RRTS is to reduce the dependence of commuters on road based transportation to a combination of road-cum rail transportation system.
The RRTS network is expected to provide fast, safe and comfortable commuter systems at a reasonable fare for intra-regional movement of passengers.
The Maximum Operating Speed of RRTS will be 160 kmph and Average Speed would be 100 kmph which is somehow 3 times faster than the conventional Metro Rail.

Sir, why 90% of all central Govt projects are concentrated towards *Gujrat, Maharashtra & Delhi* 🙁 I noticed 9/12 planned routes are in Delhi itself. Bullet train is also for Maharashtra & Gujrat (Mumbai-Surat-Ahmedabad & Mumbai-Nagpur) Not to talk about Gujrat, whole India knows how much Govt favours Gujrat. 1) Statue of unity 2) Modi stadium & sports complex 3) Delhi-Mumbai Expressway 4) Mumbai-Surat-Ahmedabad Bullet train project 5) Surat diamond city 6) Dholera smart city 7) Gift city 8) western DFC corridor and 90% of all foreign investments over last 5-6 years diverted in Gujrat. I believe this will even widen the gap between rich states (South India, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Delhi, Haryana) and poor states (Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal, MP, Chhatisgarh, Rajasthan, North-eastern states)😥 Govt should focus first on these poor states, but sadly no single mega-projects seen in these states. These states are stupid enough to vote for achhe din of rich states.

There are no RRTS connecting two important metros, Chennai and Bangalore. Necessary lines are Chennai-Bangalore-Mysore, Chennai -Coimbatore, Chennai-Madurai-Tirunelveli-Tuticorin. There should be all-round development, not just in the NCR and Hyderabad-Vijayawada.

Why are all but 2 of the RRTS in the North of India? Expect for the Hyderabad lines,none of them are in the South. It leaves out 4 of our metropolitan areas of Mumbai Chennai, Kolkata and Banglore.
