I've been in India since 2018, and as I was reviewing my annual expenses, I noticed a HUGE difference between my cost of living in here and the USA. So I dug through my old footage for days and have a short video to show you some differences if you're thinking of traveling India for awhile or seeing America.

BUBBA! I get that you might wanna go back to them darn hills of Austin, Texas though I don´t think there are any there, are there? Never been there. BUBBA for me it´s a one way trip to India and I ain´t coming back to Colombia nor the US much less except to vist my mom and dad in Colombia and my brother Dennis in Jersey. INDIA captivated my heart and kept it when I was there in February and March of 2019 in North India Mumbai, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Jagannath Pur, Bodhgaya, Gangabigha, Varanasi, Barbar Caves, Prayagraj, Rishikesh, Bhalyani and Gargi (villages) in Himachal Pradesh and Chandighar. I´m a heading back around October so long as India has reopened to Internation tourism. I´m so eager to get back to where my heart is. Please DO NOT misunderstand me all wh are reading this. I loved my time in the US (born and raised there) and I love the time I have spent here in sunny and happy Colombia but I´m moving wayward to India. Namaskaram Ben... Nice video... Hope you stay back in India... I mean i see many Indians go settle in the United States... But you did the exact opposite... People like you prove that living in India is beautiful too(in it's own way)... Many Indians themselves have very low regard for life in this country...no country has everything... Each nation is beautiful in its own way... And India is a very unique country with things that are totally different to others... People never learn to appreciate for what this country actually is in originality due to various reasons(like distorted history, misunderstanding of their rich culture and so on...) and they only see what they don't have... No wonder the proverb "Other side of the grass is always more green" stands so true. Anyways thank you for making people understand various things and you'll always have my love and support.

Hello BJ, Your videos have been amazing. I have been watching one each morning. Back in the 80s I was in a program AFS (American Field Service.) My mom had passed away and my dad was working the time. I ended up spending a whole summer in Sri Lanka. Hands down the best travel experience and education. I saved my money and ended up going over to Sri Lanka that summer with about $400 US 🇺🇸. I didn't realize at the time that was about what an average Sri Lankan made in a year. At that time it was about 20 rupees to 1 US dollar. And...you actually could buy a lot with 20 rupee. Thanks for this friendly reminder on Cost. Keep up the good work! Barbara in MN.

Comparing expenses as it is not fair comparison, you need to compare with it with salary, So average software engineer with 6+ year of experience in Austin is$ 80k to $100k which is roughly 56-72 lakh where as in Bangalore it's 12-18lakh so appropriately salary is 5 times lower and expenses are 4 times lower so comparitevely cost of living is more in Bangalore with Bangalore salary.

Hello I wanted to find out more because my father is born and raised in India and my mother is from Europe. I am moving to India in a matter of a month and I was thinking of New Delhi. What do you think and what are your thoughts as an American woman have Indian living in India? And what should I do for work while I am there? Because I’m not looking to come back to the United States! People don’t realize how bad the United States is on several aspects!

I like your videos very much, Ben. I understand you live in Tamil Nadu and I just saw a photo of Ramana Maharshi on one of your walls. Are you in Tiruvannamalai by any chance? If so, I will love it if you would dedicate one of your videos to what it is living in that sacred city (for a non-Indian person). I'm considering moving there. Thank you!

Mumbai is only super expensive if you want to buy a place to live, especially in south Mumbai. Else the cost of everything else is more or less the same as the rest of the country.
