I am disappointed - 2024 Nissan X Trail & Juke | AutoYogi

So Nissan finally has more than one product in its line up, thanks to the introduction of X-trail. The next launch from the Japanese carmaker would be its mid-size/compact SUV - Juke. While it's always great to see newer products entering our market, I expected them to be more feature rich and truly global in nature instead of cost-cutting here and there. The X-trail that's being launched in India is the base model that's sold in the UK, and with no strong hybrid - ePower - and AWD - eForce - that were showcased earlier this year. When they weren't confident of launching the e-Power and e-Force, what was the rational behind building the hype. In fact, we'll only get a single engine option - 1.5-litre 3-cylinder Turbo - in India. Whereas every other market gets multiple powertrain options. Even Juke too will be bare minimum in terms of features with just one engine option 1.0L 3-cylinder Turbo, and no strong hybrid or diesel there too. When it comes to pricing, the X-trail will have a 35 lac+ price tag, whereas the Juke will at least cost Rs 20 lacs. At this price point, people expect more features and engine options.

Finally someone said it honestly without being too much political . leave aside 40L, peoples wont shed 25L for Xtrail. manufacturers need to understand that CBU in destined to fail, and also ruin future prospects of that specific vehicle in market. that variable compression tech is highly complicated and unneccesary for indian needs, one thing that VW/Skoda are now coming to senses. in 30L HARRIER (even with inconsistent panel gaps/ reliability issues/ not so good interior) and XUV700 (utter crappy cheap ugly interior, i suffer a stroke when i first experienced it firsthand) ; both are the one to beat. personally I would anyday buy an used kodiaq over any of these. International brands keep making the same mistake of importing vehicles that absolutely arent suited to India expectations and reqirements, when peoples splurge 40L they expect their crossover to be plush and lavish, or be a mammoth of an SUV like fortuner. Xtrail/Rogue is an direct competitor to RAV4 which comes with and 2.5L engine also hybrid for just 2k more.

If we calculate the total tax on cars, including GST, cess, and state RTO tax, it amounts to 50%. Until this changes, we can't expect cars of good quality with in affordable prices to be available in India.

One thing is for sure. Nissan Juke will not come to India. But the 2025 Nissan Kicks which was showcased in US motor show 3 months back have a high chance of coming to India. The new Kicks have a proper crossover look with a 2 L engine and four wheel drive option and a front wheel drive version also. If the new Kicks is manufactured in India the new 1.5 E power and E force engine can be made in India.

I drove Kicks and I regret selling it. It was the most comfortable car I ever drove. I will buy Nissan Juke any day if I can afford it.

Ride quality of a product should suit a market, the Juke that’s likely to come to India will have European suspension setup with no changes at all. And that will make the ride stiffer for our roads. Also it’ll be among the least spacious cars in its category, and I am sure people in India do care about such things.

Xtrail epower hybrid ST L here in Australia comes at 49990 onroad which is 27.5 lakh inr ..That is also an exported model..It comes with way better features . All leather interiors, leather seats ..8 way power adjustable driver seat and many more features. Don’t understand why cars are sold so expensive in India that too inferior models

Nissan, another Japanese company reminds me of Isuzu, yet another Japanese company which launched with a bang here in India but are now in the dumps. Their pick-up's were affordable and we got our V-Cross for 12.5 Lakh Ex Showroom. However, going ahead they completely lost the plot and started dumping their old models in India like the MU-X whose facelift was launched in Australia, Thailand, etc. a while back, yet, when Isuzu announced a facelift for India, they just launched the old version with extra chrome and that's it 😂 Now Isuzu sells less than 500 cars in a year, however, the top management complains that Indians don't purchase their cars. I wish I could tell them that - Don't consider us Indians as fools and expect us to buy your old cars. We'd rather put our money elsewhere.

I have a nissan terrano and using it for 9 years. Nissan service is very unreliable . The clutch is very hard and it’s not a pleasure to drive . No matter what we say , the perceived value of a 3 cylinder petrol is no more than 25 lacs ex showroom . So if you even decide to buy at 25 lacs , please write off the entire value on day 1
