We finally got the opportunity to test the 2024 Hyundai Creta and we pitted it against the Seltos Facelift. Fortunately, we had the diesel AT versions of both the cars that get the same 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine mated to a 6-speed torque converter. Both are reluctant to do NCAP tests. Where I live same company owns Honda & kia showroom. Honda guy said, kuch nahi sir same hi 3-3.5 star aayenge. Unlike Honda they aren't even claiming 5 star. I have seen seltos getting dent while reverse with a simple touch.

U should have covered one important point where most of the buyers were buying 1.5 NA either MT or IVT for Creta, they can have all the bells and whistles in Creta including 360 camera, ADAS where as in Seltos buyer has to opt for Diesel or Turbo petrol to have all the features such as ADAS, 360 Kms etc. This is going to be a game changer for Creta.

I own the previous version if Creta. On the highway, i got a milesge of 23-24 after driving for 700 kms even though the company claims at 17. Even in city i get a mileage of 15-16. But yes...that drive had been in the speed zone of 80-100 on highways and i drive mostly on rolling in city. This increases mileage considerably.

Apart from the styling of both cars people should know the main difference between Creta and Seltos ie Creta is a Family Suv with Better Ride quality and Lesser Handling while Seltos has stiff suspension setup with more handling and lesser ride quality. Hyundai and Kia are essentially the same company, with their design process being handled by the same team. They have minor differences, particularly in their interiors/Exteriors, to create the illusion of distinction. In terms of performance, both brands offer identical chassis and engine/powertrain options. To put it plainly, purchasing a Hyundai or a Kia is like buying the same car, just with a different logo.

Thats the case with Skoda VW as they are built in same factory. Creta seltos shared same basic mechanical bits like chassis suspension steering components but they have different teams to tune those components in their own way and all the exterior and interior bits are different as well. They have entirely different manufacturing plants as well so not so same as Skoda or Maruti Toyota combo

If I need more stiffness and a sporty ride then a better option will be to wait for the N-Line Creta which will be launched in a couple of months instead of going for the Seltos. Looks wise this face lifted Creta looks much more Premium and gets that butch boxy SUV silhouette. Plus its fresh in the market and the main reason will be safety. As Hyundai had showcased the Creta’s shell, I’m very sure that they are planning for a 5 Star NCAP safety rating and like we’ve seen with the Verna, Hyundai is very much capable of getting 5 Stars. Which I’m not that sure of the Kia cars. Yes overall a very tight competition, but in my books definitely the Creta.
