War is costly. India is not like Ukraine, that it can be cornered. We recently changed our nuclear doctrine when China became aggressive. War is a double edge sword, when two parties go to war it affects both the parties.
@rishibajaj88377 сағат бұрын
@@Name-pq9xn The bigger loss however would always be for the country which has a better economic trajectory but not a comparative military strength to guard that path. Unfortunately, India's enemies in Pakistan doesn't have as much to lose and China has a substantial edge over military strength with a relatively lesser economic growth trajectory. So unfortunately, war for the these 2 enemies of India, may well be a potent move to put brakes on India's growth. India relatively loses a lot more even whilst being on the defensive side.

I Still remember the news around 2022 -23 when Dessault ask india that India's production line is still open if India wants more rafale ... then france welcomes to take such orders
@Name-pq9xn13 сағат бұрын
Politicians only care about winning elections. They don't have an appetite to take risks, ruling party fears that they will lose election if their decision backfires. The military should be given greater autonomy when it comes to purchasing weapons and platforms. Just a few years back the opposition said the Rafale deal was a scam, the ruling party for some reason did not proceed with the original plan of purchasing 126 Rafales instead bought only 36. There was also a clause in the deal to manufacture the M-88 jet engine of Rafale locally in India but for some reason that also got stalled. Delay over delay due to some reason or another.

◾AEW&C or AWACS i.e sky in the eye will not be problem with 6 Netra Mk1A n 6 Netra Mk2 coming. ◾We need to make a quick decision on 60/80 MTA. That will be another C-295 kind of deal. Some off the self purchase n most Made in India. ◾We need to buy MRTT aka Refullers. We need 18 & have 6. We should go for a 12+6 deal as those 6 needs replacement also. ◾There is a big delay in supply of F404 engine for Tejas Mk1A which is why IAF is yet to get any Tejas of Mk1A standard. ◾We are yet to sign a deal for manufacturing of F414 engine to be used in Tejas Mk2, AMCA n TEDBF. HAL is hopeful of signing the deal by March 2025. ◾What's in our hand now is AD systems, conventional missiles, air to air Astra BVR, air to ground SAAW, Rudram, LRGBs all indigenous which IAF need in big numbers. Its time they place big order for it. ◾As for MRFA it's best IAF gives up. This is the only program they are hung onto which is delaying every other programs. We don't have money for that. ◾I can recall what Late Parrikar said 8-9 yrs back MMRCA will cost atleast 2 lakh crores. So today we can say MRFA will not cost less than 2.5-3 lakh crores. ◾It's best IAF orders 2-3 squadrons of Rafales with source codes so we can integrate our own desi missiles. ◾Then move onto an AF version of TEDBF which can fulfill remaining MRFA requirements n also be a good 4.5+gen aircraft that can also be replacement for Su-30s which will come to end of its lifecycle.

The only challenge that IAF is facing that of govts carelessness and lack of understanding of what are our adversaries have on their hand or what we need to respond to them.

All of these things need to happen in parallel ASAP (and the defense budget should be adjusted if necessary to accommodate them): Work with Safran on engines with the goal of eventually replacing GE, include private players to set up multiple LCA lines and churn them out on industrial scale, a combined local production mega-order of Rafales for Air Force & Navy, Super-Sukhoi upgrade program, and a reassessment of whether India should consider a few off the shelf squadrons of Su-57's which can be fine-tuned and improved to start developing a presence of stealth fighters in the IAF and experience operating them now that China (and potentially Pak in near future) has them.

From the outset ...each and every airforce chief who have retired till now has said...that all the domestic programs are in parallel with purchase of foreign jet... LCA Mk1 IOC---FOC---LCA MK1A ---LCA MK2---AMCA this is the order no matter what...in domastic programs... MRFA AND FGFA are our PPP models...for foreign fighter procurement...this should be clear for each n every one before criticizing...and yes purchasing of FGFA has become top priority now... because of our northern neighbour... atleast 1sq of Su-57...for now

How does any indian armed force work with older set of equipment, up until now? I know that the Indian soldier is strong and works tirelessly, but the question arises how does Armed forces are being able to maintain dominance despite the older technology in use?
@BhuwanGupta-b4h18 сағат бұрын
India should have ordered 5 more squadrons of Su-30 after all it’s orders of 15 squadrons were completed. We are not able to deliver tejas yet because we are dependent for jet engines on other countries. And perhaps some people will say that it’s outdated or whatever, but at the same time, you need platforms to fight. Today we are in a situation where in we don’t even have enough platforms to fight 2 front war. So either india should have ordered at least 5 additional squadrons of Su-30 or we should have ordered 7-8 Rafael by now.
@BhuwanGupta-b4h18 сағат бұрын
We should not get anything else right now except for Rafael. If india wants to go for buying anything from outside, then we should go for Rafael only. American Aircrafts which are offered in MRFA are actually F-16 which pakistan also has, Russian Aircrafts are not very good and British Aircrafts are shit. We should get Rafael, we already have 2 squadrons, so we have to get 7-8 squadrons of Rafael.

@BhuwanGupta-b4h13 сағат бұрын
@ there are not any depth. Any Russian platforms are not an option because of low quality plus international sanctions plus Russia is filling their own inventory first. US is not giving us their best technology. Europe had eurofighter and rafael and grippin and rafael is the best out of all 3. Plus we are already operating 2 squadrons of rafael and we also make some parts of rafael within the country. So we should order 6-7 square for rafael with a condition to make them in india asap. While we also keep working on tejas mk2 and amca at the same time
@BhuwanGupta-b4h12 сағат бұрын
@@AnishAaravOO1 yes which is why we need to buy a minimum number where Dassault aviation has to open a new assembly line within india. They won’t do it for 36 Aircrafts. They will do ot only if we place an order of 100+ Aircrafts

HAL monopoly should be ended. otherwise we are doomed. Some questions 1) why there is no order for ATGS/ Bharat forge own 155/52 howtzers 2) Why nor order for tata kestrel or mahindra IFV 3) why preferring AK 203 over SS defense full suit of small arms 4) why not retrofitting uttam + Astra mk1.mk2 + Astra IR 5) Why HAL LUH not getting order instead that russin KA 229 6) why directly collaborating with saffron for 50 50 funding for jet engine development 7) why 3 + 1 training instead of 2 + 1 training

From my personal point of view what I feel is that, considering our the aggressive postures by which our adversaries are arming themselves with advanced fighter aircraft in their inventory, we also need to consider quick options that would severely act as a stop-gap, without undermining our programs of developing an indigenous and Made in India Indian Air Force. If and its is true that our indigenous defense programs are time taking to get executed, in that case we must go for emergency procurement from like-minded partner countries like evaluating Russia's offer of the Su-57, considering more Rafales to be brought under the MRFA Programme for 114 aircraft under license-built production in India, like the we had done for the Sukhoi-30s from Russia. Besides continuing the required R&D and everything that goes on for carrying out indegeneous development of Fighter Aircrafts in India, if there re shortcomings of fighter aircraft at all, we also need to develop our Air Defense Systems with advanced radars, SAMs, Countermeaures and etc., that can be capable enough to counter 5th Gen-Fighter Aircrafts, Long Range Strategic Bombers and Advanced HALE Drones. The Voronezh Radar Systems, if procured from Russia will be huge leap of breakthrough. As we are having an economy that is capable of supporting our defense procurements, why don't we utilise it in the right direction? Because Bureaucracy is holding everything back.
