Basically to tell you simply, President is the one who is responsible to regulate the law and order in the country through the parliament and it is the one who has the authority to pass the laws and bills. They is also the one to appoint the Prime Minister. Now Prime Minister is the one who recommended ministers for his council and it then gets appointed by the President. There are various ministry such as Defence, Health and education, Telecom, Transport etc... So Prime Minister plays a very important role as a channel of communication between the president and the council of ministers. Prime minister also take big decisions for the country like military deal, trade agreements etc... and his decisions are influenced by the council of ministers. The ministers of the respective ministry supervises them and keep on updating the PM on whats going on.
