I recently visited Kashmir valley, but I wasn't allowed to take pictures or videos in many locations, though being an Indian. God forbid, if a foreign tourist is captured by the cross border militants, they'll end up in Pakistan within 48 hours with no whereabouts and might even turn up dead. If such a thing happens, it will not only cause a negative rep inside India, but also on international stage. This is exactly the strategy of militants: to internationalise the issue and gain legitimacy for their cause by showing ineffectiveness of Indian army. In the end, Kashmir and it's people will suffer because their economy depends on tourism: mostly domestic tourism.
