Indian Cities will KILL YOU | Why Indian cities flood every year | Abhi and Niyu

Every day we hear news of people dying in our cities because of floods. Our cities are supposed to be developed but then why are they so mediocre? Why does every major city flood so easily in monsoons? It is not a matter of heavy rainfall, but this is a repeating phenomenon every single year. In some cities, it hardly takes little rainfall for the roads to flood causing untold distress for citizens and loss of lives.
All of this begs the question, why do our Indian cities flood? Why are we unable to deal with the monsoon? Are there any solutions that can help with this problem and how can households contribute to reducing flooding?

I live in Delhi. I was attacked by 6-7 outsiders in Hauz Khas area of South Delhi the very next day on 28th July, 2024 between 05:05pm to 05:15pm in the day broad light after the Delhi coaching centre death incident on 27th July, 2024. The reason is still unknown and undefined to me. The incident was happened in front of Jagannath temple and opposite of PNB and beside Deer Park. They beat me a lot and slapped on my head and face and punch on my chest, belly and back side numerous times and tried to snatch my belongings. People were watching the incident in front of their eyes but nobody came to me. Nobody helped me. I cried a lot. But nobody saved me. Moreover Delhi police misbehaved with me. Didnt show sympathy or empathy. No compassion no humanity. Rather they were scolding me. They also didnt help me after my written diary. No police offered me a glass of water or food as I was thirsty and hungry and I asked water to them. Even they didnt take me to any hospital or doctor’s clinic for my medical treatment as I was badly injured and blood was bleeding from my wounds on my forehead, face, nose, lips and hands.

You are damn right. In our country we expect everything from government but wen it comes to fulfill our responsibility, we just escape or start giving excuses. In my society, lots of garbage boxes are kept for different kind of waste, but educated PPL too don't give a damn. They throw plastic garbage in wet and wet in plastic. Government can't cure this thought process. Forget ABT Waste management, I will give u one simple example. Spitting on roads. For that what kind of support PPL need not to spit on road!! Whenever a bus passes by you, you never know whose spit will fall on you. Eating gutakha, Tobacco and keep spitting everywhere, for that also PPL want government to do something?? As a country, we all are morally corrupted and with no civic sense and that's why our country is in this situation

Instead of smart cities project, fund should be utilised for urban drainage system design upgrade which can cater max monsoon rainfall. Premoonson activities must be completed at ground level in each city. New builder project should be approved only when proper drainage design is available.

If the PM brags about being 5th largest economy, he should have basic common sense to make sure that the overall infrastructure of the country also reflects that claim. Also, the central government has the power to draft policies for the same and make sure that Centre, State and Urban bodies all come on the same page. This is not rocket science but simple common sense to not make a mockery out of oneself on a global stage.

Bhai I have a masters in urban planning from US and I tried working with municipal authorities. I returned considering Modi's policies. I was pushed back with political hurdles. My entire life will be wasted in reforming the authority than fixing the urban areas. My reports are checked for money sponges not wetland sponges. Look Into approval methods go know why we lack planning. It's idiotic. I am left with mnc like WRI, who come with propaganda. I'm offering solutions to new housing complexes, but that's not enough. In my village we had made a medium sized pond to collect flood water and you might be surprised to know that during our rice plantation we don't need borewell for irrigation simply we use that water to our field. Well it is not so large but we are trying to make more such ponds along the canal system in which only flood water comes to collect flood water and to use it further Not only this we stop the rain water from flowing into drainage instead of it we have made its way along our bagicha and field by making a strong contour lines along our field because tree roots make the land spongy and more amount of water go into soil and in our field our rice crop gets sufficient water which last at least 1 day in our field because rice ia water intensive crop and this all results in significant improvement in water management
