Talks of considering VPK-7829 Bumerang to replace the older IFVs of Indian army is a really smart move: 1) It shows how Canadian hostility towards India is yet another example of how the west is pushing India towards Russian weaponry. 2) The Russian APC and IFVs have faced the modern battlefield swarmed with drones, giving the engineers a better understanding of how to deal with them and are supposedly equipped with counter measures like increasing the armor thickness in particular places/reactive armors etc.

If money is not a factor, then we should go for Dassault Rafale F4 with assembly plants in India 🇮🇳 with production rates of 24 jets per year. Otherwise we should go for Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 5 with full ToT and source codes. In addition Su-57 stealth fighter jets. Basically for MRFA the choice is between Dassault Rafale F4 and Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 5. Saab JAS 39 Gripen E and F-21 are out as they are single engine fighter jets being too light for MRFA as well as prone to American arm twisting. MiG-35 is out as it is not a capable fighter jet. Su-35 too is out as India already has similar fighter jets viz. Su-30MKI. And F-15EX and F/A-18E are out too as India already has similar heavy class fighter jets viz. Su-30MKI and not to mention American arm twisting risks. Basically India is also looking for medium class fighter jets like Rafale and Typhoon.

With previous experience of Mirage fighter aircraft upgrade and integration of Indian system and weapons, further in view of fast pace of advancement of technology to 6th generation theses Rafael F-4 standard fighters aircrafts of 4.5 generation would be old and out of date, as and when deal will be finalised and delivery commences. Every one has right suggest including channel. But let us be clear that the decision can not be based on one or two arguments. India can think of reducing the numbers but at the same time as for establishing 100% manufacturing facilities in India even if the cost is more. It will not only recreate jobs but also establish ancillaries and that will create environment for research and development of defence aeronautical Industry. The suggestion of going for two squadrons of SU-57 should be seriously considered since they are 5th generation fighters which may compensate Chinese J20 fighters.

I think they did so just to keep US happy and to provide valuable feedback to US on the Strykers performance under Indian conditions to help general dynamics. However Stryker does not pass the basic requirement of amphibious capability, so it never was a real contender to begin with. WhAP is being finalized. I think the military is waiting to see if the indigenous 600hp engine being developed can be easily integrated into the WhAP (for Mark 3 versions) before putting in the big order.

Phased and staggered is much more viable. 36 f4 and 36 f5 would be better suited. Also consider mq9b as cancelled as 2029 is other way to say No. By then world will be on next level. Third although ge 414 contract would be signed in December but highly pessimistic and negative whether usa will give delivery of 414 or will arm twist. USAs mq9b stryker and f16 are all garbage. Let's see how usa will digest it. The weapons which India needs from usa is f35 404 and 414 engines which he is saying no to it. So seek alternatives if it shows tantrums. Mrfa is dead project instead of concentrating on mrfa we must buy 3 or 4 squardons of rafale or atleast buy kf21 and 6 to 8 squardons of tejas mk2 depending upon trails and concentrate more on amca fighter jets 300 to 350 and start a development of sixth generation fighter jet for the replacement of 4th generation fighter jet after 2055 or 2060.

Why one needs this scrap junk called MW 9 by 2027. It's all hell broken , dooms day for IAF in this ruling regime for not obliging 114 UPA government agreement to procure from Rafael back in 2014.

Y can't expert realise rafale Marine is old and expensive and limited production and instead go for fa 18 super hornets because of entire production line transfer and France never mentioned f5 upgrade for india expert's hyping thing's up that's all

The only advantage the F/A - 18 Super Hornet has is the engine commonality with future IAF aircraft (GE F414). Other than that this aircraft is being phased out of service by the US and due to US unpredictability the supply of these aircraft and subsystems has to be taken into account. A better option that uses the same engines are the Gripen or even KF-21 Boramae. If you want a different aircraft, but with similar capabilities to the Rafale then the Eurofighter Typhoon is suitable. In the meantime upgrading the SU - 30 and acquiring some SU - 57’s would be a logical option to enhance capabilities.
