Shouldn't Navy be making these statements as the Customer - or are DPSU still expecting the Services to buy only what they Can make and when and how many - that make the Services the Import Lobby where they can get Best In Class to compete to best fit THIER requirements - especially if those requirements are Make In India....

We should DEFINITELY follow the Rapid Dragon concept with the C-390M. Can pack in a bunch of large long range hypersonics without us having strategic bombers.

Why not do that with IAF C17 used to prove Rapid Dragon - only missing the 1,000km standoff range subsonic sea skimming Cruise Missle that is Nirbhay then ITCM - to keep the launch platform far out of range of enemy 2Mach Fighter screens operating hundreds of kms out with 200km BVR missiles looking for easy slow moving and huge RCS targets that can't shoot back...

HAL has a heavy workload between MK1, MK2, AMCA & maintaining & upgrading aircraft from current fleet. Private Sector is the only efficient way to create additional production lines & should be incentivized. It will be great to see IAF start getting 20 -25 MK2’s every year, while HAL is delivering similar number of MK1A’s. MK2 will be the latest, designed from scratch 4.5+ Gen fighter & will no doubt garner solid export interest. On top of that MK2 production lines can also be upgraded for AMCA, doubling the number of AMCA’s (it will need similar scaling by part vendors) production rate. Great for both national security & export ambitions.

They tried and waited for almost 3 years for a private company to partner for the AMCA production, but not even a single company was interested. They will collab with foriegn OEMs to jointly produce foriegn aircrafts, but have 0% interest in indigenous products. Shows priorities. I wish HAL functions like a private company with more autonomy, which will happen to certain extent when it becomes a Maharatna company.

Go with TEDBF instead of naval tejas... It's a good design..but choose a different name for TEDBF. Already we have tejas mk1 1A and mk2. Stop producing Tejas Mk1 instead Mk1A for export. Open multiple production line and assembly line with private Indian partners for Tejas Mk 2, TEDBF and AMCA, choose the 2 squadron Rafael F4 and upgrade the f3, which times a week is sounds good. Then we have 72 Rafael of F4 version. Jai hind

I will say, Airforce need to rethink about the additional 97 Tejas mk1a orders if the delivery timeline will go beyond 2030. In such case, IAF need to consider more number of Tejas mk2 instead of mk1a.
@Rocky-pz8px
@Rocky-pz8px Күн бұрын
No. We need atleast 250 Tejas Mk1A on the front line.. as interceptors.. our squadron strength is falling beyond anything.. aim at building 36 mk1a/year by 2028-29.. and keep continuing till 2032-33.. nd then HAL should directly switch to AMCA production line.. nd let Private Sector build Tejas MK2 completely.. 36/year too (overtime build to this much).. so that by 2035, we are building 72 jets/year.. India needs atleast 300 Tejas mk2 (250 just as replacement of old mirage, mi29, jaguar, nd 50 jets additional).. nd we would need 350 AMCA overtime.. 120 Airforce says anyway.. but would have to replace 150 Su30s by 2040 too.. so all in all we need 350-400 AMCA by 2040-45.. So a bigger production line is the only solution.. nd only thats how India is going to get Export Orders.. m sure India will get good orders for Tejas Mk2 nd AMCA if we somehow get an indigenous engine (or IPR with France).. bcoz most of the nations dont wanna deal with US Russia and Chinese..they want an alternative, better not let that alternative be S.Korea or Turkey.. India needs to surge ahead.. hightime that Private Sector shares the burden of HAL..

These T72 Tanks can be offered to multiple countries from Armenia to Vietnam to Central Asian & African countries. People might laugh but even Taliban can be offered these T72 tanks. Will certainly help them modernise their defences better than operating old T54/T55 tanks. The good thing is that irrespective of whichever country we offer these tanks, India has the chance to emerge as an Overhaul & Upgrade Hub in future for these tanks.

I think for the small number of carrier fighters the navy can put in, we should just deal with and upgrade the Mig-29s, get that Rafale order, and drop TEDBF in favor of accelerating and making sure AMCA is delivered on time for the far larger IAF need for it. Making a bespoke plane for a very small amount of carriers makes little sense, and before anyone brings up ORCA it's even more imaginary and not officially sanctioned by the IAF.

If India can stick a very powerful radar one that has a longer range than the f35 which India already has (over 400km) then the C390M could be a very impressive missile center hub for masses of multiple smart cruise rockets that will be able to overwhelm Iron Domes like we see happen to Israels Iron Dome .This could be a cheap and quick alternative to building 1000s of jet fighters to compete with China

Something is better than nothing. Not only for our naval but also for exports tejas should have been done long before. Also for mk2 there should be a dedicated assembly line in construction. The infrastructure should be made now so that it is a smooth transition. No work should stop due to infrastructure or logistics issues. The ministry of defence should employ more workers hr infrastructure and so on on priority basis. The air force will get the fighters on time once all the things are in line. All the best.

Contrary thinking. 1. Order Typhoon in MRFA, get production setup in India and get ToT 2. Use this as leverage and join Tempest as 4th partner 3. 4 partners will get big orders which will make this program viable with atleast 500 jets Benefits of joining Tempest 1. UK has engine tech 2.
