The dual pulsed rocket technology was later transferred to DRDO which would be used in Akash NG 😊 We only localised parts of MRSAM. It was designed and developed by Israel Aerospace Industry. Later they developed Barak 8 er with 150km range and Barak MX as complete SAM system from short to medium to long range. Where is DRDO extended variant??

If you do not have enough orders, enough to pay the costly assembly line and generate profits, a 100, 150 aircrafts wont cut it, so your question if leaders are stupid or we are, leaders dont build aircrafts, companies, factories build, HAL is not fully government, its partly private, so as long as it is not profitable, we cant expand capacity

these deals take a long time to complete, 20 engines per year will suffice, also HAL wants to open another assembly line so as to increase production of aircraft, but it is extremely costly start a new assembly line without sufficient orders, you have to be able to pay up the cost of the assembly line and generate profit, 100-150 aircrafts wont cut it, thats why the decision to get export orders, only then it would be viable to increase production capabilty

There's a key word in the phrase "defence preparedness", and that word is 'preparedness'. PS: the UK is retiring 30 Eurofighters (Tranche 1 or 2; only air-to-air) with 20 years of life left in them. We could buy them, dirt cheap... besides being first-class air-to-air platforms, that purchase will give the French a "jhatka"... (the Eurofighter was the 2nd shortlisted aircraft after the Rafale in the MMRCA competition)... having the closest competitor in IAF service will shake up the French, and I'm sure they'll reduce the price of the Rafale dramatically. It's a win-win for India.

No need to get second hand Eurofighter. Simple solution, 1. Force HAL to deliver MK1A without delay 2. Force HAL to adhere to strict timeline for MK2, preferably start from 2030 3. Conclude MRFA once elections are over. Order 114 Rafales with assembly in india. If they dont agree, ask Eurofighter to assemble in India with ToT 4. Upgrade Su 30 with indigenous options like adding AESA, long range BVR and EW suite. Use this as test bed. 5. Finally fastrack AMCA with partnership from foreign collaboration. @@arthurrod7638

That radar absorbing paint is a game changer for India not many countries have got it. India claims its got 90% absorption ,so i presume its the new ceramic paint, which can also survive high temperatures, .Interesting fact USA use the old paint on there F35 raptors which only has 75% absorption plus they cant fly over mach 1.3 or the paint melts and its very expensive to make and apply .Im sure India can also paint there missiles with there stuff

I did not know that the Apache was capable of operations at such altitude. Why would such an undertaking take place? Presumably some mods were made including restarting capability at the low temperatures in Ladakh? Hopefully, such undertaking is under the capable hands of experienced technical analysts to avoid what just happened. Good news on the Sukhoi. India has, unfortunately, fallen behind the Chinese upgrades to the Su-30 for reducing weight and RCS. Im not sure if exporting the Tejas is a great idea with the procurement problems the IAF is having. On top of that, the FA-50 is honestly a really good little plane, especially since they took the brakes off and added AESA, BVR, mid-air refueling, etc. Onkybthe Mk1a is equivalent. With other countries already using it, that puts India at a heavy disadvantage regardless of price. And the Mk2? There isnt even a prototype yet.

Nah, the AGM-183 ARRW was just test fired from Guam. The HACM is in development, and there are about 70 other Hypersonic weapons programs running among the various services. As for Brahmos, the US will have had a close up look at it once the Philippines got it. They will have already had all the data on the older p-800 oniks.
