Pianist John Ogden captures Busoni's virtuosity and eclecticism in this unusual symphonic piece. I find Ogden's performance absolutely stunning on all levels, from his perfect synchronicity with the London Symphony Orchestra, very ably directed by Jascha Horenstein, to the lyrical, chiaruscuro sonorities Ogden traduces here. All things considered, John Ogden renders an entirely scintillating, intellectual, even aristocratic performance here of very obscure , difficult repertoire.
