i live in Arizona and the road is hwy 88, its a great ride with wonderful scenery but you get a lot or tourists up there cause of canyon lakes and Tortilla Flats but if you hit the road early in the morning on a weekday you can really get the most out of the ride for a few hours
@bobfallis2 жыл бұрын
Just about to say that road looked familiar. Did the Tortilla Flats run not long ago. Too many tourists, had to leave almost as soon as I got there.

if only they made a "Carbon" equivalent of the Rally. all the features and technology of the Carbon, but looks of the Rally.. i absolutely love the brown leather seat and color of the Rally, but i want the upgraded suspension and technology features.. knobby tires optional.. just need more color options.. guess I'll wait until next year and see if they make changes.

I have the Rally with rear rack and side bag/rack. Very versatile motorcycle. I live in the Arkansas Ozarks and the Rally is still a backroad bomber even with the Scorpion tires. Also surprisingly capable on dirt/gravel. Honestly, I really dig the 19 front and 18 rear as it gives some beautiful handling in off-camber downhill turns...there is an inertia that gives great stability. I will say my Rally gets lots of thumbs up from non-riders.

Thanks - this comment gave me more information than this video! I have just bought the only FTR1200 Rally that was brought into Australia… watching a bike on a hwy behind a car isn’t really giving me much regarding its off-road capability. You should do a video yourself!

Love the looks of the Rally myself too, BUT: for a shorter guy that does not plan to do drifts on it, does not make sense to get the S in stead? Loosing traction is not something I am keen on... I am torn between the Rally (barely reach the ground) that I love how it looks and the S, that looks cool too, but has all the other stuff that make is premium (as the price is premium as well)... Living with either one is a question mark and the way the two ride is another answer I would appreciate to have some light on the subject... Thanks guys! @@warlok9

HELP please! I am torn between the Rally and the S! I love the look of the Rally, but as it is higher and does not have the good tires nor the traction control that suppose to help with loss of traction due to inferior tires.. I sat on both bikes and the S is so much better, while on the Rally I tippy toe as I am on the shorter side of mankind... Could anyone help me understand how does the Rally rides compared to the S... And how is to live with it? Thanks you so much!!

The 2022 S model is too street for me. The Rally does not have TFT screen. So what is there left for me? A used 2019 S model :(
@warlok93 жыл бұрын
You're right. I have the 2019 race replica. There's actually a fair amount of 2019 models new at dealers. I agree, the 17" wheels really hurt the lines of the bike. Now what is unique about this bike? It's just another street fighter that's too heavy and expensive to compete in that segment. When I bought mine I was between the FTR and MT10. The looks and uniqueness of the FTR race replica are what decided it for me. ($2000 rebate didn't hurt either)
@tinmisuun3 жыл бұрын
@@warlok9 We have no dealer here in Alaska. So a couple months ago I found a 2019 FTR Race Replica on craigslist up here. I bought it thinking that if I don't then someone else will. I am loving this FTR!

I somewhat agree. The new MT09SP is 2 grand cheaper than the base model of the new FTR. The 2021 MT09SP has rear Ohlins suspension, lighter weight, more fuel capacity, better gas mileage, and an extra cylinder in the motor. Looks are subjective but I would give the Indian the advantage on that and possibly straight line ride quality as well, judging from the extra weight. I wouldn't down the new FTR, I love it but it's definitely overpriced in comparison to its competition. The changes to the FTR I hope will be well received but they placed themselves into a tough market, particularly at this price.
