An Indian textile enthisiast, a doctor and an amid traveler who is spreading the culture of Indian textiles through her videos in Instagram and other social media platforms.
She talked about the textile market and how to organize it. She talks about the affordability of the handloom products which are costly as an average family earns way less than the price of a normal silk saree.
But yet to support the handloom workers and their families, she promotes our Indian culture, which involves our handloom products. An Indian textiles enthusiast and an avid traveller, Pritha Dasmahapatra is an Instagram content creator focusing on the history and heritage of Indian textiles.She studies the subject from resources at the Victoria and Albert Museum Academy, National Art Library, and the British Library in London. She has been on several handloom and handicrafts trails across India, meeting artisans and documenting their crafts. Her content has successfully managed to spark an interest in Indian textile history and craft-based tours among her followers. She grew up in Kolkata where she studied medicine at Nilratan Sircar Medical College. She is a gynaecologist and works for the NHS in London.
