If it is not laundered out the classic circular/hexagonal Indian Army acceptance stamp (in black ink) on these JG BD trousers is usually found inside the trousers stamped onto one of the hip pocket linings..

I'm very confuse with the khaki drill uniform...currently I have a Khaki drill tropical shirt and I don't know what pants to go with it
@RiflemanMoore5 жыл бұрын
That would depend on the time period.

Did they wear the denim BD in the the jungle?
@RiflemanMoore7 жыл бұрын
+Harry B Not in the jungle as far as I'm aware, it would have been a nightmare with the dampness and humidity, wet denim all the time. They were used in Italy to a limited degree as a hot weather alternative to serge battledress, but that's a comparatively dry heat and when it does rain there it also gets cold so you then need more than denims anyway!
@harryb89457 жыл бұрын
Rifleman Moore thanks. So when and who used the denims then?
@RiflemanMoore7 жыл бұрын
+Harry B As I said they were used to some degree in Italy but it was essentially an overall uniform for dirty work. Some of the Commandos wore them at Dieppe, the Home Guard used them for a time before being issued proper serge battledress, they were also used for training, you see the Commandos wearing them when engaged on speed marches and the like for example.

From what I have learnt, the Chindits fought bareassed for the most part. Just shirts.
