As usual a great in-depth video - I am lucky enough to have two WW2 period Indian wool shirts in my collection, one is mint and is ink stamp dated '1944' inside the back just below the collar, along with a maker's stamp and the usual Indian Army acceptance stamp.. It is in a different wool to the one here, roughly the same colour but with a more 'flecked' finish to the wool which is also a little less densely woven, it has a collar but both shirt flaps are intact so I think it was intentionally made with a collar rather than adapted later. The other is a collarless example, date unknown, but it is absolutely identical to the collarless Indian wool shirt pictured in Brayley & Ingram's 'Khaki Drill and Jungle Green' so it is a little darker and greener that the example shown here.
