The actual defence budget of Chinese military is around 600-700 billions dollars.......and India still lie on 75- 80 billions dollars where 60% of money are goes to salary and pensions.......

We should cancel pensions for all politicians and government teachers and bank employees and introduce a 1% defence tax on every thing this will give a boost to defence budget I’m doing this edit as some people got confused that I think only government employees should be charged the 1% defence tax but that’s not what I mean I mean that there should be a 1% defence tax on every like GST

If that’s true then their military receives money at par if not more than us military for their equipment, r&d etc. This is because a large chunk of us defence budget of about 800 billion dollars is used up on maintaining and running hundreds of their overseas bases, and their counter terrorism operations or military interventions across the globe which China lacks

Imagine a carrier battle group with 70k ton Aircraft carrier with 50 Tedbf, these 14k ton destroyers, arihant class and project 75i class submarines, nilgiri class frigates. It will be a juggernaut which can go head to head with any chinese threat with ease.

Whenever P18 arrives its fine,before that Indian Navy needs Frigates & Corvettes to replace older ones,based on existing designs not mammoths like Nilgiri Class with Inadequate firepower. They could use Kamorta Class Designs for Light Friagtes,armed with 76mm Oto Melara 8 cells VLS for 32 VL SRSAM 16 cells VLS for VL ASROC replacing 2 RBU6000 8 cells VLS for Bramhos NG 2 RIM 116/Pantsir M 4 Torpedo tubes(533mm) For Corvettes they can go with Saryu Class Deisgns with 76mm Oto Melara 8 cells VLS for 32 VL SRSAM 8 cells VLS for 8 VL ASROC 8 Cannister Launched Bramhos NG 1 Pantair M/RIM 116 1 Quadcell Torpedo tube 12 Frigates with similar configuration & 12 Corvettes with similar configuration.

We need to increase our defence budget to at least 100 billion dollars by next 2-3 years otherwise these types of projects will remain only on drawing boards and will not be materialised.

Tomahawk is a family of land attack cruise missiles, with a lot of different versions, giving that missile family a very dinamic mission profile, some of those missions being that of an anti-ship missile. Brahmos on the other hand is primarily an anti-ship cruise missile, that has been Optimised for land attack roles. Brahmos is limited by its range. If we can get it's range up to 1500 kms, only then this comparison will be a valid one. One Brahmos missile is equal to approximately 3 Tomahawk missiles only if you have to hit only one target, and that too only if the Brahmos variant in question has a range of about 1500kms, which I don't think will be just an upgrade done to existing missiles in service will do. 800 kms of range seems to be the upper limit for that. Anything above 1000 kms, I believe, will require a different airframe than that of the existing Brahmos in Indian Navy's service altogether. Otherwise this comparison is the same as a comparison between apples and oranges where we are looking at the number of calories both the fruits contain, and nothing else.

Our 7000+ tonnage of ships are having VLS equivalency of 3/4000 tons of western navy... it just can't be justified with excuses like our galaxy best bhramos is 3× that of harpoons or we have two haptor hangers.. Western ships have modular section for 3-4 container that could be used for any role.. For get about BMD our A2AD of ships are not enough to protect themselves.. There is so some serious fault innaval design bureau.. they are still designing ship based on soviet structures of 90s.. they should either collaborate with Japanese or french to design 21st century ships.. our latest ships look two gen older than commissioning ships of word navies..
