The Desi community continues to grow in Korea. Today we have Majid from Pakistan, Neha and Yukta from India to share their stories living in Korea. While most of their experiences focus on the positive side of Korea, of course there are negative ones as well. Are Koreans welcoming of Indians and Pakistanis?

@@jklife2481 NICE VIDEO BUT : 14:06... I AM AN INDIAN WOMAN BUT I HATE CRICKET. 15:48 TO 18:30.... MAJORITY OF INDIAN GIRLS AND WOMEN I KNOW WEAR MAKE-UPS WHEN THEY VENTURE OUT OF THEIR HOMES. I MYSELF DO SO FOR EXAMPLE. AND HENCE, IT IS NOT MUCH OF A CULTURAL SHOCK FOR US INDIANS. HENCE I DO NOT AGREE WITH ANYTHING THESE GIRLS SAID. 20:23 TO 20:30..... SOMEONE WAITING FOR FOOD IN LINE OUTSIDE SHOPS OR RESTAURANTS DOES HAPPEN IN CITIES LIKE KOLKATA OFTEN. I MYSELF EXPERIENCED IT. 20:36 TO 20:40....SHE IS WHINNING. INDIA IS 100 TIMES MORE CROWDED THAN KOREA INDIA HAVING THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF POPULATION IN THE WORLD AT PRESENT. 25:53 TO 26:00......POLITICS OF A COUNTRY MANY TIMES DOES DEFINE WHO THE PEOPLE ARE. BEING A KEEN OBSERVER OF HISTORY, POLITICS AND SCIENCE I DO KNOW IT. SO I DO NOT AGREE WITH HER. 26:15 TO 26:22..... OUR LANGUAGES ARE CLOSELY RELATED BUT NOT ALWAYS SAME SINCE INDIA HAS MANY LANGUAGES HINDI BEING ONE OF THE MAIN LANGUAGES, MY LAMGUAGE IS BENGALI FOR EXAMPLE AND BANGLADESH TOO HAVE DIFFERENT KIND OF BENGALI LANGUAGE AND ALSO PAKISTAN HAS URDU LANGUAGE WHICH IS CLOSELY RELATED TO HINDI AND MAJORITY OF INDIAN LANGUAGES COME FROM OUR ANCIENT YET CLASSIC INDO-ARYAN LANGUAGE CALLED SANSKRIT, AND SOUTH INDIAN PEOPLE'S LANGUAGES HAVE COMMON ANCESTRY IN ANCIENT DRAVID LANGUAGE. AND INDIANS BEING HIGHLY PATRIOTIC AS WELL AS EMOTIONAL PEOPLE, WE INDIANS GEL WELL WITH OTHERS FROM OUR SUBCONTINENT AND CONTINENT WELL. 27:30 TO 28:00..... NEHA SHOULD HAVE TOLD THAT KOREAN MAN THAT CEO OF CHANEL IS AN INDIAN PERSON HIMSELF. 28:16..... THEY DO NOT THINK INDIANS LIVE UNDER ROCKS AND IT WAS RUDE OF DAVID TO LAUGH LIKE THAT BECAUSE INDIANS ARE WAY SUPERIOR TO KOREANS. 28:30 TO 29:14...... NO BOY OR MAN SHOULD PHYSICALLY HIT A GIRL OR A WOMAN EVEN OUT OF RACISM OR OUT OF JOKE OR HUMOUR. 29:25 TO 29:45 ..... THAT IS HORRIBLE AND SOME OF THE WORST THINGS IN THE WORLD. I WOULD NEVER GO TO KOREA FOR WHATSOEVER REASONS BY THE WAY. I WATCH SELECTIVE K-DRAMAS AND AM CONTENT WITH THAT ONLY. 30:00 TO 30:13...... NOW THIS IS HILARIOUS!😅 LOL. 30:20 TO 30:36.....ONLY STUPID PEOPLE IN THEIT FANTASY DREAM FAIRY-TALE WORLD GETS OFFENDED IF SOMEONE SAYS ANYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT KOREA, THEIR LA LA LAND OF K-DRAMAS AND K-POP. 30:00 TO 31:06... INDIA IS DEVELOPING AND NOT YET DEVELOPED. 31:10 TO 32:05...... NOW THIS IS BAD. 32:20 TO 32:49.... NOW THIS IS NICE AND SWEET. HE IS LUCKY. 33:20....... INTERESTING THING TO KNOW. GOOD LUCK, DAVID. 33:27 TO 34:40....... OUR COUNTRY INDIA IS ALSO FULL OF NEGATIVITY SO INDIA IS NOT GOING THERE EVEN IN 2175. OUR INDIA TILL DATE HAS HUGE NUMBER OF POVERTY AND UNEMPLOYMENT WHICH IS TRUE. 34:52...... HEAVEN ON EARTH? NICE JOKE YOU SAID DUDE. 35:45 TO 35:49..... WHAT IS WRITTEN IS NOT COMPLETELY FALSE AND IS PARTLY TRUE, I BEING AN INDIAN MYSELF KNOW IT. 37:37 TO 39:40.... THIS IS THE BEST THING I HEARD IN THE VIDEO. 38:35 TO 38:41...... KOREAN PEOPLE ARE KIND? NICE JOKE LOL. 38:00 TO 39:05.... I THOUGHT AHJUSSIS WERE SUPER RUDE PEOPLE. I AM DELIGHTED TO KNOW THIS. 39:00 TO 39:18....... THIS IS TRUE THOUGH. BUT EVERYONE KNOWS THAT KOREAN PEOPLE ARE RUDE. 39:20 TO 39:26...... NOW THIS IS A JOKE AGAIN. 39:30 TO 39:36......BEING OVERLY PATIENT OR WHATEVER DAVID SAYS IS NOT A BAD THING AT ALL IN CASE OF KOREAN PEOPLE. 39:41.....KOREAN SOFT POWER SUCKS TO BE HONEST. BTS FOR EXAMPLE SUCKS. 43:35 TO 43:43...... IT IS "EAST ASIAN" AND NOT JUST "ASIAN" AND NO ONE FETISHES ANY GENDER OTHER THAN MALE GENDER AND FEMALE GENDER IN DARWIN'S EVOLUTIONARY FACT OF HUMAN CIVILISATION. AGAIN SAYING, IT IS "EAST ASIAN" AND NOT JUST "ASIANS". 49:32 TO 50:18.... I DON'T WANT TO SEE KOREA AS A MULTI-RACIAL COUNTRY BECAUSE ETHNICITY OF A COUNTRY SHOULD BE MAINTAINED I BELIEVE. 50:35 TO 50:43.....TO DO LIKE HOW ROMANS DO IN ROME WE DO NOT NEED TO LEARN KOREAN LANGUAGE. I NEVER THINK KOREAN PEOPLE ARE KIND AND POLITE TO BE HONEST. REST OF THE VIDEO IS GOOD.

I am French and have managed an Indian team for a French company for one year. I also worked 6 months in Chennai for that same job and with the same team in 2013, and that part of India was catching the development of the North part but so many big companies were already there and more were on their ways. But still, as said in this video, the view of India in France is so far behind from reality. I was gladly pleased and had a great time there. I also visited Kerala and truly enjoyed it. I was really glad I could go and see things for myself. The world also shows such a wrong/bad view of sub-saharian African countries.... so I understand... They also never show the middle class the entrepreneurs of any African countries except sometimes South Africa... Never. India actually reminded me a lot of Central Africa, I loved it, and people were so nice. I am from Congo.

One the major difference between india and Korea is that Korea is so small , I mean if a thing is trending in Seoul it will become trendy in Korea be it food like if a popular shop is selling a new food item in Seoul people will call it Korean food but india is big so what happens in one region doesn't affect others , similarly Korea has only Seoul and Korea people tend to like copying westerners be it food , clothing or cultural things so it becomes same for Korea

I can only imagine the amount of planning and troubleshooting you need to put in for these videos to happen. Thank you for your hard work! I hope you are saving business cards so that you can keep in touch with your guests. Your show allows you to expand your acquaintances and business contacts. Use that opportunity well, both in your personal life and in your projects!

David, this was fascinating. I love the depth to which you cover social and cultural matters. Your guests today were lovely and very informative. I now have a new interest in India and Pakistan. David, I have told you before, you are such a sensitive person. Your kindness, warmth and respect for others is so evident. Your genuineness and humility are touching. Thank you for bringing us meaningful content, and contributing to the understanding that we are all more alike than different regardless of where we come from. I would love to hear these particular guests discuss dating in their cultures, so part two is definitely necessary!😊

Hopefully u could invite alllll sorts of non-koreans of as many nationalities as possible onto the show to talk about their perspectives of living in korea! no one else is doing this and i know so many people wanna hear from so many different nationalities in a deeper podcast style show! I also see David learning more about these cultures and it's must be insightful and fun for him too! East Asia (japanese, Chinese), Southeast Asia (vietnamese, malaysian, singaporean, thai, etc), Latin America, African, Middle Eastern etc!

I really appreciate how they individually presented their culture while speaking the truth ... Its so true that people generalise all the kind of stereotypes regarding India and all the south Asian country just by reading articles or listening through media outlets which aren't true!! India is growing and ig every country has its own good sides and bad sides to it... And i also really appreciate how them being foreigners living in Korea shared their part of stories while speaking the truth and not just sugar coating... Its sooo true that someone shouldn't just fantasize korea if they really wanna go there... Do the necessary research before u go anywhere not necessarily just korea rather than just getting a culture shock and ending up disliking the country... Thanks for the video ❤

After discovering the truth about Islam I ended up disliking the whole community lol☠️but I realised that not all muslims in India are like that, the people who didn't read Qur'an are very peaceful muslims, salute to them but this case doesn't exist in Pakistan's case, whole society is radicalized 🗿

I am really glad that i came across your channel and this really opened my eyes. I hope you will be come back with part 2. 🙂🙂 THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN SWEETHEART!!!!!!!!!!!!♥️♥️💜💜🙏Lots of love from India 🇮🇳

This was an engaging discussion. The host did a good job of trying to understand and respect the sensibilities from the desi guests. Most of the K-You tubers who travel in India(not all) mostly focus on the poverty, messy streets and make sure they dont miss the interactions with scammy tuk-tuk drivers in tourist locations. This in turn makes the already stereotypical image of India more stronger. And the cycle repeats. Of course this gets them the views they are after but little do they realise they are doing a dis-service to future travellers to India. Such a big and diverse country like India deserves a much more nuanced and balanced showcase. One of the popular dialogues when they go to a different place in India is - "This doesnt look like India." This shows how ingrained the stereotypical image of India is in their minds.

we indigenous north americans also have something called indian time (named that because we were, and still are sometimes, called indians). it works in a similar way, where we're late, but thats because in our cultures, what we are doing at the moment is more important than what is coming.

I have seen so much Korean content from 9 years, one thing I got to tell is that, I enhanced my creativity because of this content. Because Koreans are a homogenous community, they love trends and thrive with uniqueness, but this also can be very pressurizing. I believe every country has racism and we can't just point out only that and have a perception about that country. I will be starting my first ever job in few months in an MNC and I'm curios to know the work culture of India. This video is very insightful and made me think a lot. Thank you for this and I hope you can bring out more diverse topics in the future related to India and Korea.

Exactly. Racism will exist no matter what country you go to But just looking at the comments on this video, they seem to think that all Koreans are racist. There are also many good people in Korea. I am sad that they judge Korea negatively with limited information posted on KZbin
