Cheating, by definition, is defying the faith that your partner has put on you. Hence, physical cheating IS a form of emotional cheating, because putting faith in someone is an emotional matter. If you do end up cheating, you are essentially showing to yourself and your new partner that if any one of you has issues in the relationship, instead of voicing it, that person might cheat, which is a recipe for trust issues in both of you. It is always better to first separate from your partner if you feel like acting on a desire to cheat, as ultimately, it would be better for both you and your partner.
