Nice to see you include the pens that give you pleasure, regardless of where they are made. I agree that a pen should be judged on its merits, not the perceived status of the brand.

I've as bunch of Rangas and I agree that they make great pens. They were, I believe, the first to add German nib options to Indian pens and that has made a big difference. Now, however, we are beginning to see high quality Indian-made nibs, especially those very interesting Magna Carta nibs. I think Magna Carta has really advanced Indian pen making this year.

Excellent video! Your previous video featuring the Ranga Giant Samurai inspired me to buy my own, it is magnificent!! And the nib writes so incredibly well already, something not experienced with a lot of pens brands - I just wished I had opted for the #8 nib.

Glad I could help! Those No 8 size nibs are expensive. I have started to see some pen companies using the Jinhao NO 8 nib units in their pens. Those nibs come in Ef, F and M.

Superb video your enthusiasm is infectious,I have pens from all the makers you included today & am an avid Indian pen fan.I cannot recommend Lotus pens enough having 6or7 of their pens in different models & materials,their work is second to non.The only one I have from Fosfor is the Islander in Rosewood excellent pen but a real long wait if you don’t want to pay extra to jump the very long queue.

What a nice selection and review, and of all new brands for me (oh nnnooooo). Wow, with such good commentary on the nibs and your writing experiences, you’d think these Indian models would get more publicity from the western (and Australian) pen world. Distribution issues, perhaps?

Some have quality issues but the reputable ones are excellent pen makers selling at affordable prices.

Gracias por tus videos y demostración de estas estilográficas Indias. Me sorprende las números 12 y 11, que hay que calentarlas para que fluya la tinta. Creo que esas no me las compraría aunque el alimentador sea de ebonita. Saludos desde España.

Dear Vincenzo, This is not the first of your videos I have seen, but I think it is my first comment. Thanks so much for the outstanding info. you provide--very interesting. Your grade is A+ :) I do not want to mention any specific brands, but what is your experience with threading defects? The official terminology is Engineering Tolerance. Technical explanation/description>Engineering tolerance is the permissible limit or limits of variation in: a physical dimension; a measured value or physical property of a material, manufactured object, system, or service; ... in mechanical engineering the space between a bolt and a nut or a hole, etc. Part tolerances are allowable variations in the dimensions of manufactured components. They are expressed as plus or minus values, or as a range of measurements (typically inch-based). ... Die cutting tolerances are a function of material type, part features, tool type, and production technique. So whether a bolt and a nut, or, for threaded caps, a cap and a barrel when combined, should not have "play" in the cap, i.e., wobble, as the result is that the poor threading causes the cap to hang-up/bind/catch when replacing the cap onto the barrel thus the threading operation has to be restarted.

Interesting technical details. I heard doodlebud say something similar.
@howardcunix86778 ай бұрын
@@fountainpentherapy I have been saying this for years because I was exposed to the concept by a master tool and die maker. Have been using and collecting fountain pens since 1988. You certainly do a great job and for that, we, your audience, are grateful.

My Indian pen of the year is a Ranga Splendour in beautiful gray cream ebonite that makes it look like polished stone. I would strongly recommend that you try an Indian pen made by Lotus. I purchased the Lotus Shikhar piston filling pen from Peyton Street Pens -- beautiful, impressive pen, that performs flawlessly.
