India's market regulator SEBI has fined and banned the financial influencer behind a social media page called "Baap of Chart".
He boasted of 20-30% profits while having incurred losses worth around Rs 3 crore since 2021.
This case is the latest in SEBI's crackdown on financial influencers.

What about banning celebs promoting pan masala and betting apps? And so too are economists and central bankers no matter how fancy they make their analysis sound. Do not hand over your hard earned money 💰 to anyone to "manage" it for you. They are simply gambling with your money in the markets and pocketing fees along the way. You may as well be gambling yourself in the markets on stocks and saving yourself the fee. In general there is no such thing as investing in the market. You can learn to invest in stocks, bonds..etc but be aware that no matter how sophisticated you become with the analysis, you are essentially gambling like everyone else. Best investments are in yourself - solid skills that will improve your career prospects and especially so if you can learn much of these skills on your own and on the cheap. Invest in things that have enduring value - a home, a farm, hard money, and only when the prices are right. Lend money to nobody because you won't see it being returned. Lastly let me say there are a million ways to lose your hard earned money with pitfalls, bankers, financial crooks all around. So be very careful with your money 💰
