Brother, your videos are so great. You seem so comfortable on camera and that's nice to see. I know you have stated that you didn't feel that way in the beginning. I love your videos and your guitars are just beautiful. Thank you so much for the shout out! ✌️ & 💕 My friend.

Just wow.... I am on the fence with the finish.. The lighter woods to me seem to call out for a matte finish. That Rosewood how ever (even next to the Olive neck) SCREAMS to be the star of the show and wants to shine like there is no tomorrow. Its almost like it needs to be under glass its such a precious piece of wood. I got to say between You, Brett and Todd I feel insignificant as a builder so far. I think all three of you are on par with some of Bens best work and in some cases better even in various parts of your builds.

Bill you’re a really kind guy, thanks 🙏. I think you’re right and that’s probably the way I’ll go with the finish… melamine shined up like glass!😀 I agree that Todd and Brett do fantastic work, I love those guys and all I’ll say is watch this space 😉. However you’re doing yourself a disservice brother, we all have workshops decked out with everything we need and you get beautiful results in your apartment, there’s more dedication there I’d say!👍

I made a Telecaster out of a solid chunk of Indian Rosewood. It’s heavy, but it’s not a dealbreaker, by any means. Very pretty wood, but I had a very nasty reaction to the sawdust, so make sure you wear a mask. Beautiful work, as always!

Thanks for the kind comment Gus, I’m always conscious about wearing a mask but I’m sure I forget as often as everyone else!🤣

That's a going to be a real showpiece to go on the stand when you attend shows! The streaky bacon wood on my GGBO top is shisham, sometimes called Indian Rosewood. If it's anything like the normal rosewood I can attest to the weight because I reclaimed it from a friend's TV cabinet that nearly broke my back getting it from the car to the house!
@TornelliGuitars2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris, this will be one of my show guitars so I’m really happy with how the Rosewood looks. I think I’ll stick with fairly thin tops to keep weight down! 👍

Wonderful. The top does indeed look stunning. The first thing I thought of when you held it up at the end was those beautiful, rich desert pictures of striated and wind eroded rock. There’s such lovely, flowing movement in the outer edges. I agree with you that matt does indeed look pretty cool. Again, I really like how your videos are evolving and think the ‘chat as you do’ is a winner. Whether you think so or not, you make the whole thing seem effortless 🙂

Thanks Jamie, I agree!.. that’s exactly the colour palette this wood has, I’m thinking the melamine will accentuate it the most because it’s not going to tint the wood at all, but I’m so glad I went with this wood now, I was worried there for a while 😀. Thanks also for your kind words on the new presentation style, I’m still trying to find my way but I get a bit closer with each video so I’ll keep trying to improve!👍

Wow, that's IS beautiful. Really nice choice, I loved the top and the olive wood neck, they match perfectly. I usually favor matte finishes, but I can see that a gloss body / matte neck can be a great option for you here. Or vice versa, the contrast may be the answer. Sweet T is one of my favorite channels as well. Never miss a episode and some of the tips from Todd have made my life really easy. Peace and long life! 🖖

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a kind comment Daniel, I really appreciate it. I think you may be right on the gloss body, matt neck, that’s likely to be the way I go. And I agree Todd has a great channel and is an awesome human being ✌️

I have a few rosewood planks. I need your guidance to make a solid body electric guitar
@robertr41932 жыл бұрын
The guitar is looking really nice but one thing I think I would have done was at least chamber the body. would not need to make any sound holes but it would have made the guitar lighter weight and it might have resonated better. All that not withstanding it's your build and you are building it the way you want so that fine. I am sure it will turn out looking and most likely sounding very nice as it is.
@TornelliGuitars2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert I appreciate the comment. I’m going to chamber the next one I think. The guitar is certainly not heavy but it would be cool to make one really light.

I know this is a debate beat to death about wood on electric guitars and I wont say a word but I will point you to a video that may be of interest. The Channel is Jim Lill and the video is Tested: where does tone come from. I was on the fence with my thinking as well but that sealed the deal.
