Tamil Nadu has the same dichotomy of strict vegetarians, and adventurous non-vegetarians, so Tamilians would be right at home in Assam. I'm a Tamil-American Non-veg from a veg family, and was surprised to learn just how non-veg Tamil Nadu is, cuz my experience had been so sheltered during visits, meat not being allowed in family households. Also, Indo-Chinese food is frikin AMAZING, so true Assamese food must be incredible. Would love to try it some day.

There are so many similarities between assamese and malayalis 1. Let's come to attire first Mekhela sador worn by assamese women is very close to set saree worn by malayalis Riha is traditonal to assamese women which is similar to neriyathum for malayali women Men in assam prefer traditional Gamosa/Seleng sador with their attire and Malayali men use a melmundu with similar embroidery with their attire Assamese bridal attire is white with gold zari work woven similar to Kerala's kasavu saree 2. Assamese ghila pitha and Kerala's neyappam 3. Assamese vaapor pitha and Kerala's puttu 4. Assamese nimokhiya pitha and Kerala's paniyaram 5. Assamese kosu torkari and Kerala's kappa curry 6. Assamese payos and Kerala's payasam 7. Assamese use banana leaf, jackfruit leaf, ginger leaf, bamboo etc to steam food, similar usage is done by malayalis 8. Assamese love ripe jackfruit and makes pitha/malpoa with it, same is Kerala's chakka uniyappam These are just some that came to my mind, there's so much more, especially the striking similarities with the languages I think i can write another 10 points on the similarities between assamese and tamil cultures ( assamese bohag bihu and tamilnadu's vishu both are new years - let's just leave it at that)😂😂😂

Welcome to Nagaland in Advance. I am from Nagaland and looking forward for your episode in Nagaland. Its going to be another legendary food review show of yours. Best food review show ever. Loved all of your contents. Out here in Nagaland, the food here is totally different from Mainland india, we dont use much masala and cooking is simple yet delicious for sure with a variety of dishes, mostly meat is our main dish ingredient and you will find lots of exotic foods. Come and taste as much as you can for review to the world. Thank you 🙂. Few must have are naga pork dish, axone with smoke dry pork, anishi with dry pork, chicken or fish curry naga recipe with bamboo shoots, etc. I hope the guide here in Nagaland will give the best tour for Authentic Naga foods 👍

Been following your content for over 3 years now, and I'm so happy you made your way into the North East as well. As an Assamese, I can testify that this video was a great mix of the daily, the occasional, and the exotic! ❤️

Assamese food is much tastier than northern or southern food, with the use of less spices but lot of natural herbs. I'm surprised how much tastier and healthier they are even without so many spices.

Taste is very subjective thing. It might be tastier for you but not for others. For me, northern food is better then Assamese

Hi Sonny! Thanks for covering this part of India! Social media is making people tolerant and allowing them to accept that it's more important to be a morally better person rather than judging someone solely by the food they eat. I enjoy pork and beef at the same time, and I usually prefer giving a chance to a new cuisine before judging it.

Fish bladder has a unique texture and is quite delicious, but it must be cleaned properly! I believe that’s the 2nd intestine Sunny tries around the 6th minute mark. Cooking it may vary from region to region, but we usually cook it in fish soup and it’s amazing 👍

Great to see you to cover NE India. The diversity of India is impossible to capture by visiting mega cities only. One suggestion: NE India not only have different appetite for nonvegetarian but also it abundance of unique vegetable also. Please explore something like elephant plum, elephant foot, taro, bitter eggplant.

Thanks a lot for visiting my state of Assam. I hope our Axomia and rest of the Northeast culture gives you a lot of good experience Edit: that round pitha is called Tel Pitha (তেল পিঠা) tel means oil and pitha, which is self explanatory. The cylindrical one can be either Naricol Pitha(coconut pitha) or Til Pitha, depending on what you put there. The wrap is made by grinding rice.

Thank you for visiting Guwahati and Assam. I am a big fan of yours and I am glad you loved the local cuisine and your ending comments was icing on the cake. I loved the content and you tried to cover the major delicacies in one single video but my only regret is you should have tried Maas Tenga (Fish Curry) instead of the fried fish. It's unique and it's loved by all. Looking forward for your rest of the Northeast Journey. Have fun
