​@ctbt1832 it is partially the coach's fault because Caitlins teammates aren't setting screens for her or hustling as much as they should when Caitlin is on the floor. Plus, the whole team looked lost out there. If Sides was a halfway decent coach, she'd be finding ways to make teams start to double team one of the other players like Smith, Boston and etc, so it'll take pressure off Caitlin Clark. Great teams in the NBA do that all the time. When the Bulls were winning titles in the 90s, teams couldn't really double team Michael Jordan because that would leave scottie pippen open, or he'd possibly be mismatched with a smaller player for him to score easily. And vice versa which made the Bulls unstoppable. Just for an example. I know the fever aren't on that level and I'm not comparing the teams. However, Sides needs to figure out how make this team gel. Caitlin should be used as a decoy if she's being double teamed to create open opportunities for Boston yet Boston is playing terrible this year surprisingly.

Watched my 3rd WNBA game Indiana Fever home opener 102-66 loss. It was "Every man for himself". Caitlin got shut down with only 9 pts. Clark has created a marketing fever pitch in audience for the league. If the coach can't figure out how to use and create for Clark, I'm afraid interest in the WNBA will fall back into the doldrums of no interest once again.

The issue is Christie (coach) is not building plays to adapter to her roaster, anotherwise CC is treated like another player instead utilizing her skills and impact on the court. CC only getting 7 attempts is not going to help... shooters like CC need to get into a rhythm, saying your player takes bad shots is dumb, thats the coach putting blame on the player and not her self is amateur coaching. When your player (CC) is 80%+ of the time drawing 2+ defenders to double coverage and apply pressure against your shooting game, and she does her job to assist on the play instead of taking the shot, that player (CC) is not the problem on taking “bad” shots, thats a coaching game play error.

Yes, CC can take it to the hoop. But she is NOT a wide body, she at least needs a small lane to squeeze through. Get her some help by coming up to the ball. And for God Sakes when she throws the ball to the post or forward, please catch it and then score. I didn't get a chance to watch the whole game but what I did see was A.B. muffin the pass or not able to follow through. I think in about 35% of the game I did watch, A.B could of at least had 10 points on them observations alone. The next thing is Ladies, get your buns down the court so CC or the other decent passers can help break the 1/2 court press. Of Course, I'm not a coach, or professional BBaller but what I see and don't see is very obvious to me.

I'm nobody, but... if you have a player who is surrounded by three defensive players (Boston)... two people are wide open, kick the ball out. Start again. Have a discipline who is going to take shots - versus just anyone working one-on-one to the basket. Too many Fever girls are standing around on both ends of the floor. Caitlan should be your quarterback... I think she has demonstrated those exceptional skills. Both offense and defense look chaotic. Your record won't change unless your team becomes more cohesive. It all starts with leadership - as a coach and a quarterback. Anything less won't work well enough to matter.

Defense has to be better. Teams are having it there way. And need better plays to free up your shooters. All of this is a Coaching mistake. And some of it is you need to switch the line up , up. Play Caitlin Clark as a Shooting Guard. Someone else needs to bring the ball up the floor. Screens need to be set on time with the shooters coming off the pick ready to shoot once they see daylight/have enough space.

Caitlin has to fix her body language she looks frustrated after almost every mistake. Right now why she is getting used to the WNBA game she has to just compete as hard as she can. Things will get better but just keep playing and helping the teammates get shots by putting pressure on the defense.

Why would you put a point guard in the corner when you need players that can shoot and distribute the ball. Wheeler can’t do neither. I hear that this is a young team, great let’s see them run. Play all your rookies that can run and play basketball. I haven’t seen neither, no defense or offense, all I’ve seen is chaos on both sides of the ball.

I think coach Sides need to decide wether to ride and die with the team flow last year or with the success of CC flow for past many years. If they are not winning last year then plugging CC to that will not create that much. Sides might need to put it CC and plug in the entire team on how to optimize CC flow to win
