I believe Indiana Jones suits Videogames better nowadays. Action movies today just feel empty and this might be okay for new franchises but for a franchise that is rooted in movies from the 80s I feel like it's just not possible to make a new good Indy movie (And Harrison Forst will never be replaced anyways). The fanbase for the Indy games wasn't especially big, however those who played the older Indy Games really liked them for their charm, atleast thats what I've heard. And they felt in line with the whole universe for the most part. I really hope this games will be succesful, it really should be, it looks very thought through and detailed. And if it does success I feel like we could see many more Indy games coming and being successful in the future, more so than new movies or shows.

Man your dad made the right call 😂 Also I was not at all interested in this after the last few Indy movies. But now I will at least keep an eye on it. Something with a more measured pace and a balanced approach to non-action mechanics would be pretty bold and refreshing for a AAA, IP-based game.

Oh please.... Uncharted with Troy Baker taught me a lesson. This is a straight up old Indiana Jones movie but it's just one you can play. Expect a great game.

Crystal Skull was not a flop. It was a critical failure. There is a difference. And even then it scored well with most mainstream critics, just not the audience. Meanwhile Dial, while a much better film and largely embraced by the fanbase (its high audience score speaks for itself) was a commercial failure in no small part due to a concerted smear campaign by a faction of trolls that had begun as soon as the film went into production. It’s a very good film and a fitting send off and it’s a shame so few saw it. Time will be kind to it. Very eager for this game. Grateful we’re getting another chance to redeem this legacy. The game looks excellent.

@@wwb16 yes. Also an issue. But the concerted smear campaign was a major contributing factor. I have, to this day, people telling me they won’t see the movie because of insert Doomcock Conspiracy Here. That stuff went shockingly mainstream and, as you said, Disney did very little to combat it with effective marketing.

Brooo Dial was lame AF. The only thing good was the 1944 prologue after that 1969 present was boring and lame AF. They turned Indy into a big Puss and was sidelined.

You have to realize the specialization of the studio. Machine games focuses on 1st person games. It’s best that they stick with what they know.

@@scoutfish96 yes, but you have to understand that we don't get Indiana Jones game everyday. And as a fan i wanted this game to feel more like the Uncharted series. For me, i will prefer to see the character doing all the actions rather than feel that i am the character and i am doing the actions or like they called it: "Be Indiana Jones". For me 1st person games are best for games like Call of duty or Doom. but, there are games like Far Cry or Cyberpunk that the all 1st person thing doesn't work for me.

Also will say if they would have done 3rd person they would have ran the risk of being called an uncharted clone. That and like I said coupled with the studios history can see why 1st person made more sense for them.

I just had to say Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn't a flop. It is the highest grossing Indiana Jones film with almost 800 million dollars at the box office😂. Regardless of how you feel about the film itself that is a success.

It’s really sad that Xbox’s messaging is fucking up the marketing cycle for this game. The headlines should be about how this game looks really good but all the focus is on it coming to PS5. Overall have high expectations for this game. Machinegames is an S-tier studio. Wolfenstein 2 is a personal top 10 game for me. Know Youngblood is dogshit but that was a different time with Bethesda. Gonna be a day one try.
