Being religious has a lot to do with having faith. If he saw those things with his own eyes, then he can still be a person who operates on proof and evidence. Likewise, being religious requires worship to a higher power. Indy might acknowledge that such a power exists, but won't worship it. Therein lies the difference between religion and spiritualism; the former demands adherence to a strict set of edicts, commandments and moral principles and is organized through man-made institutions while the latter minimally asks that you acknowledge that the spiritual world exists.

I looked at some other videos and it seems the specs sheet is extremely overdone(overbearing?). 1080p and 1440p wasn't an issue on 3060/4060 level cards and didn't require any dlss crap. WAY better than the ones we have seen recently.

I know these reviews are sort of "stream of consciousness" type affairs, but i really wish that the delineation between categories /areas of the review was a little more defined. I heard you mention three times that getting out of water is awkward, but i didnt hear anything that speaks to wether the shooting is satisfying. I heard you say that the platforming is uneven, but have no clue what this games puzzles are like. Ultimately, i am ending this review knowing only "yeah, its pretty okay", but i don't really have any idea what the game actually consists of overall. Essentially, it seems like this review was so focused on a few specific details that it forgot to give a feel for the big picture.

@@maxwellfluckiger6829 now it has full path tracing on PC it requires even more of a NASA machine to run it. I have a 4090 and having to use frame generation to get to 4k max settings. I'm not complaining as the game looks fantastic but it doesn't bode well for next year's releases and I'm definitely not getting a 5090! I upgrade once every four or five years and there's already games pushing the current best graphics card to its limits. Just glad I held off on the 3090 though. Vram will be king in the coming years.

I can always tell if a game will be solid depending on several factors, one of which being how much time/effort they put into their sidequests. The sidequests in this game are really well fleshed out and actually add to the story. We so rarely see this in games that it is a breath of fresh air when we get it. This really does look good visually, and from a cinematic standpoint it nails that famous Indy vibe. I like adventure games that immerse you as much as possible in the adventuring itself; the snooping, the beautiful locations and interesting puzzles. We have reached a point where traditional rendering techniques have extreme diminishing returns with the graphical fidelity modern games are pushing. It takes incredible artistry and a lot of work hours to manually set up lighting at the level of something like Uncharted. Also, even then there are always issues with things not looking grounded in the game world that RT mostly takes care even in software mode like lumen. Hate it or love it RT is here to stay because it streamlines game development and takes a lot of the development resources and allocates them to more meaningful stuff than manually trying to get things to look right. Give it a gen or two for GPUs to catch up a bit more and it will become standard, no one will even mention it as an option, same as other really expensive rendering techniques like SSR, SSAO, Tessellation, etc that nowadays cost next to nothing to render.

I just checked Digital Foundry's tech review, and based on performance on Xbox consoles it's one of the most polished games in years. Stable 60 fps everywhere with ray traced global illumination and relatively high resolution. And they uploaded their review with HDR enabled. It looks incredible.

Yeah modern Idtech > UE5 Slop. Sadly they don't license the engine, which works. I think they should consider the moolaz they would get if THEY had idtech become the industry standards instead...Idtech would smash unreal, if it became licenseable imo the new Indiana Jones game runs on Idtech 8, and it runs flawlessly and smooth and looks amazing

This is insane that they JUST announced it requires ray tracing DAYS before the launch. I can run Doom Eternal which is on the exact same engine as this game, on my PC maxed out at 144fps on a 1660. Screw "ray tracing". It doesn't even look any better for it.

even a 2060 level will play it OKAY and is like 170 16xx cards are going to not have driver support soon for the love of god. Seems a 3060 level card can do 1080 fine. I do think ray tracing is a gimmic but 16xx cards ARE old. Hell i bought a 3050 for 130 on ebay and it runs most things maxed at 1080p fine, despite what the internet says.

@@FordHoard I have a 1660 super in my TV rig, it does fine too but as far as support and release date wise it's pretty old (5 years almost 6). I do think RT is a scam mostly so it shouldn't be mandatory but still. It's the same as thinking a geforce 8400 gs(2007) would be fine in far cry 3 in 2012. Literally.
