Lifelong Indiana Jones fan here: I’m praying this game will be a knockout. As a franchise, I don’t think Indiana Jones has gotten the treatment it’s deserved and it didn’t help by the disastrous fifth film (and this is coming from someone who likes Crystal Skull). ohhhh this looks so good. can you imagine if video game technology had reached this level back in the 80s when Raiders or Temple Of Doom came out. I mean it just looks like a continuation of the films - for guys in their 40s like me who grew up on these films, this is just the perfect game. What I really adore about this game judging by everything I saw so far - it's very interactive, and this aspect alone is enough for me to get it day-one. Gameplay looks very fun, and it's the most important. I love good stories and art-direction/visuals either but it's always the gameplay-first principle for me. Indie looks and feels awesome! I wish more games were like this during the age of dead open-worlds and primitive gameplay loops with basic combat and plain-stupid stealth without any fun manipulations.

This game looks incredible and as a huge Indy fan I can’t wait to play!! I have two main gripes though: 1) Stamina gameplay is always annoying and yes Indy is no super soldier but he’s not outta shape like dadbod Alan Wake. In the original movies he’s very athletic (e.g. chasing down and fighting trucks full of Nazis) and he certainly doesn’t get gassed after two punches. He clumsy and he does he get his ass kicked but the guy is athletic. 2) I don’t get why he can’t aim down sights. Indy has military training and he willingly carries a gun because he knows how to use it and knows he might need it. They’re acting like he’s a guy who’s never shot a gun before like again…Alan Wake. Otherwise I love how in keeping with the character this game is!! The puzzles, the stealth, the hand to hand combat! CANNOT wait!!

They're just de-emphasizing his marksmanship because the game's not built around it. If they didn't, some people might approach it like a shooter when that's not the experience the developers want to convey. We'll see if it pans out or not once it releases.

Finally it looks like xbox might be putting out something great. It has been a while, for me at least. I thoroughly enjoyed Hi Fi Rush, but that was January 2023. And before that Halo Infinite in 2021. A lot of people really liked Starfield. I wasn't one of them. For me it was just......fine. Not Bad, not Good. Equal parts atmospheric and frustrating. So it has been 2 years since an xbox game has done anything for me. Here's hoping, I have always been fond of Indy!
